| Alder wilderness | This is a rather remote place (the name speaks for itself), so get here by public transport hard. Travelers should be guided by the Leppäsürja village, which is located 16 km from the Pitkäranta-Suojärvi highway. Direct trains from St. Petersburg and Petrozavodsk go to Suoyarvi station. From the station in about 1 hour you can get to Leppäsyurja by hitchhiking. The easiest way to get there by car is from St. Petersburg (in 5-6 hours) or from Petrozavodsk (in 3-4 hours). |

For example, residents of Karshevo and Gimola do not hesitate to make money on tourists and are happy to accompany travelers to the desired place for a certain fee.
Prices for organized travel depend on the duration of the tour (for a day, two, three). On average, a one-day tour (16 hours) per person from St. Petersburg costs 2000 rubles. The season lasts until about November, and then resumes in the spring - in April-May.
Karelia is also rich in other places of power. You can go to the coast of the White Sea, to the Solovetsky Islands, to the Divny Island. The northern nature itself suggests the right place, surprising with silence and striking with unusually picturesque views. Kola Peninsula, which is also part of the White Sea area, cannot be called forgotten, but in relation to the Places of Power it is rather poorly studied. An example of this is the Kamenny Island on Kanozero, opened as a Place of Power only at the end of the 90s of the XX century. A small island with a rocky outcrop, densely decorated with petroglyphs, caused a sensation in the scientific world... Petroglyphs date back to the 3rd - 2nd millennium BC. NS. Later, similar rocks with petroglyphs were discovered on the neighboring islands. We can talk about a whole complex of Places of Power, which was worshiped by the locals in those days when the pyramids of Egypt were still under construction. Among the Places of Power on the Kola Peninsula, one can name the Kuchintundra mountain with a complex of stone seids, a very interesting and mysterious place, two stone labyrinths (there are seven such structures in total on the Kola Peninsula) on the shore of the Kandalaksha Bay of the White Sea, the "Flying Stone" seid on Mount Seidpakhk (Ponoi river) and much, much more. And, of course, one of the most interesting places The force on the Kola Peninsula is Seydozero. There are several mountain ranges on the Kola Peninsula. Because of their features - flat treeless peaks - these mountain ranges are called tundras. The most attractive and famous among tourists are the Khibiny - the Khibiny tundra. This is the biggest mountain range on the Kola Peninsula. Near the Khibiny there is the second largest massif - the Lovozero tundra. Separates them, stretching from north to south, Umbozero, the most deep lake on Kola. And just in the center of the Lovozero tundra, hidden, like a priceless pearl, the goal of our trip is Seydozero. It is surrounded on all sides by mountains and only in the eastern end has a source in Lake Lovozero, which washes the Lovozero tundra from the east. Seidozero occupies almost the entire valley, leaving a place for the forest only along the banks, in the foothills. The lake is 8 km long and up to 2.5 km wide. You can get to this lake on foot, the shortest way is through Mountain pass Elmorayok. The trail to the pass begins at the edge of the town of Revda, through the territory of the operating mining plant. Traveling through the pass can be dangerous in bad weather or for an untrained person. They talk about several deaths and tell scary stories about those who got lost in the fog and did not manage to overcome this, in general, rather simple pass. You can easily and quickly get to the Seydozero valley by helicopter, but this is the route of official expeditions. Another long route can take you to the Seydozero Valley - by boat along Lovozero you can reach the river connecting these two lakes, and then follow the path along the river to reach the valley. This long and arduous route will take you to the eastern end of the lake. It was by this route that Barchenko's expedition got to the Seydozero valley.
Legends and myths of Seydozero
Seidozero is well known among a certain kind of people. People who are engaged in esotericism and secret knowledge are often sent there for revelation. This place is visited by ufologists, they are interested in anomalous zone and UFOs, which are often seen in the valley by paleoarchaeologists looking for Hyperborea. According to some researchers, it was located here. Physicists are coming to study geomagnetic force anomalies. One of the most mysterious stories about Seydozero is the story of Barchenko's expedition, but more on that below. Seidozero has a rich folklore and mythological history. it Holy lake- Place of Power of the Sami, the people who have lived in these places since ancient times. They worshiped this lake and worshiped it. There are enough ancient legends and beliefs associated with this lake. According to another, the lake is called so because of the large number of seids that are around the lake on the surrounding peaks. Seids are pyramidal stacks of stones or individual boulders, which, according to the Sami, keep the souls of shamans, in local noids, and are objects of veneration for local residents. There are really a huge number of seids on the surrounding mountains. Often these stone pyramids can be seen on the peaks that surround the lake. But to figure out which of them were built initially, and which were built by tourists, it is difficult, if not impossible. One of the most striking sights of Seydozero is Kuivo (Kuiva) - a natural image of a huge size (more than 70 meters in height), resembling a man, on one of the rocks on the northern shore of the lake. Despite its natural origin, Kuivo's figure has not changed its shape for many years. One of the legends says that this is a trace of a giant hunter, incinerated by lightning of the gods, who oppressed the local Lapps. What else can you say about the Lovozero tundra region? There is considered too much going on there deaths... Basically, this is the death of individual tourists or entire groups. For inexplicable reasons, both foot groups in the Lovozero tundra and water workers on Lovozero, famous for its unpredictable disposition, disappear and die. And, of course, Bigfoot. Some researchers believe that in the area of the Lovozero tundra, it is quite possible for the Bigfoot to live.
Expedition Barchenko
Barchenko's expedition is a kind of starting point in the formation of a huge layer of secrets surrounding Seidozero. We know for sure that there was a real person, a mystic, occultist and scientist, possibly a magician Alexander Vasilyevich Barchenko. He traveled the world, including to India, was seriously fond of esotericism. After the revolution of 1917, he began to work at the Institute of the Brain and Higher Nervous Activity. It is known for sure that Barchenko, as part of his work in a special department of the OGPU, prepared and led an expedition in 1922 to the Kola Peninsula, to the Lovozero and Seydozero regions. The official goal of the expedition was to study the phenomenon of "weeping" (emerick, arctic hysteria). As to what exactly Barchenko's expedition discovered in the Seydozero area, there is no reliable data, only some rumors, scraps of information, vague evidence of satellites. I could not find documents on the expedition or any other reliable sources of information. Therefore, everything that is said about the results of Barchenko's expedition can and should be questioned, however, the results themselves remain at the same time very mysterious and intriguing and I really want it all to be true. So what did Barchenko discover? We know about this from the diary of a member of the expedition, astronomer Alexander Kondiaini.
- First of all, the expedition discovered a geo-anomalous zone in the Seydozero region.
- Paved road along the river connecting Seydozero and Lovozero. At the beginning and at the end
roads are cubic stones, faces oriented to the cardinal points (the presence of a road is
confirmed by modern expeditions);
- A yellowish-white column like a giant candle
- A giant cave at a height of 200 fathoms and next to something like a walled up crypt
- Laz under the lake (they did not manage to find it in the future)
- Artificial pyramids
- Near the pyramids and manholes into the caves, the members of the expedition felt a sense of the unreasonable
animal horror.
There is an opinion that Barchenko discovered the remnants of some kind of pracivilization. Interesting that
an expedition sent on the trail of Barchenko in 1923 did not confirm his findings. And here
the expedition of Valery Demin in 1997 and other expeditions to a large extent confirmed
and discovered many more mysterious and incomprehensible. Barchenko's life ended tragically. He was shot in April 1938 for counter-revolutionary activities. The materials on the Kola expedition were classified or destroyed, it is not known exactly.
