What you can visit in Adygea. What to see in Adygea in winter

Do you love mountains? If so, you probably heard about the wonderful mountainous corner of our country called Adygea. On Black sea coast offer excursions to this wonderful land, but still day trip does not give a complete picture of Adygea. Having looked beautiful photos after reading the reviews of other tourists, I decided to organize independent trip to Adygea by car.

A little about Adygea

Adygea - year-round edge, a close neighbor of the Krasnodar Territory. There is no sea here, but mountains and mountain rivers delight the eye, which can be studied and admired for a very long time. In winter, skiers and sledding enthusiasts come here, hiking routes, by the way, are also available in winter: waterfalls frozen in ice, viewing platforms overlooking mountain ranges etc. Warm thermal pools are open all year round, so even in winter you can lie in the pool and catch snowflakes with your mouth.

We decided to go to Adygea for the May holidays, as 10 days is just right to go so far from Moscow by car. Spring in Adygea is a great time to enjoy the newly awakened nature, flowers and greenery so bright that it's hard to believe your eyes. Numerous orchards, especially apple orchards, had already bloomed before our arrival, so we only had to imagine how beautiful Adygea was during the flowering period.

Why go to Adygea?

  • Enjoy the beauty of the mountains, breathe in the fresh air, take a break from city life, bustle and dust.
  • Spend time actively, overcoming hiking trails, climbing mountains; find beautiful waterfalls and fonts. Or maybe go rafting down a mountain river? Or go off-road by ATV?
  • Improve your health in numerous thermal springs, mineral water which is good for the body. In winter, it is very cool to swim in the hot outdoor pool.
  • Learn something new about the Adyghe people thanks to the Museum of Local Lore, see ancient ammonite mollusks and visit the site of the camp of primitive people. There are many dolmens preserved in Adygea, which have kept the secret of their appearance for many centuries.
  • And, of course, delicious organic food from local farms. Adyghe cuisine is not only a famous cheese.

In this review, I will try to systematize all the information collected that helped me prepare for the trip, and I will add my conclusions that I made after visiting Adygea.

Choosing a resort and hotel

To be honest, I knew very little about Adygea. Beautiful nature, Adyghe cheese, waterfalls, Lago-Naki, the capital of the Republic of Maikov - that's all. I started preparing for the trip with finding out what towns are in Adygea, where it is more profitable to book a hotel.

I would divide the main tourist villages according to the main idea of \ u200b \ u200bthe rest in them.

Kamennomostsky or Khadzhokh in the old way can be called the most popular and promoted. There are many guest houses, several hotels, as well as the beautiful mountain river Belaya, Khojokh gorge and Rufabgo waterfalls. The trip to Lago-Naki and Azish cave will also not take long. Therefore, for a trip to Adygea, for the first time, we chose it to be close to the most popular sights of the republic.

Close neighbor of Kamennomostsky village Tulsky... It is also not far from it to get to the sights, but the main feature of the village is the thermal springs. So, if you want a spa vacation, then you can safely choose a hotel with a thermal pool in Tula. By the way, even if you do not live in one of these hotels, you can come to the pool for a fee. Not far from Tulsky there is the village of Krasny Most, there is a nice hotel with a thermal pool Wellness resort hotel Lago-Naki .

Another famous tourist village - Guamka... He was glorified by the Guam Gorge of extraordinary beauty, along which you can ride on a tourist mountain train. We really liked this ride, despite the wild creak of the train. There are also waterfalls, viewing platforms, so you won't be bored.

Guzeripl and Khamyshki suitable for rafting enthusiasts. It doesn't matter for beginners, there are a lot of offers of rafting for entertainment purposes - there is an advertisement on each pole with a proposal to pass a couple of rapids on a mountain river. But if you are an experienced rafter, then I recommend paying attention to these villages, because in their vicinity there is the most dangerous and difficult rapids in the whole of Adygea, formed at the confluence of two mountain rivers, including the White. Passing by, we were lucky to see how two rafts passed this threshold, a fascinating sight!

I especially liked Hamyshki - a picturesque and well-groomed village in the mountains, at the foot of majestic mountain Monk. There are many neat houses, fields where horses graze, there are cafes and restaurants. A very pleasant place.

V Dakhovskoy you can stay at comfortable hotel, to Lago-Naki, the cave and the sights of Kamennomostsky at hand. Dakhovskaya is also famous for its ancient bridge and observation platforms in the mountains, which, unfortunately, we did not reach, because the weather, to put it mildly, did not indulge and did not dispose to hike to places far from the road.

In Maykop, in my opinion, it is not very interesting to stay, because it is far away from the sights, and I don’t even want to go to Adygea to live in the city. You can come here to a restaurant (we really liked Aquarius) or to the Museum of Local Lore.

I have listed the main villages, there are even smaller ones, we have not visited them.

So, I opted for Kamennomostsky, namely hotel Terem by the river... I liked the photographs of the territory, wooden houses, the bank of a mountain river, gazebos for a barbecue, a swimming pool, a bathhouse. In my opinion, what you need for atmospheric living in the mountains. I liked the hotel as a whole, although there are nuances that, fortunately, did not spoil the rest, you can read more in my review. -> Review of the hotel Terem by the river

Belovodye

To diversify my vacation, I decided to choose another hotel. First I booked Aquathermo, on the territory of which there are houses and a thermal pool, but then I accidentally stumbled upon Spa Resort Svyatograd (hotel description) and could not resist. Large new hotel complex, charming houses, large swimming pool, spa, catering, nice pictures restaurant and territory and, oddly enough, an affordable price, about 4 thousand rubles. for a house with meals breakfast and lunch.

This hotel is located, as it were, at the junction of Adygea and Krasnodar Territory, therefore, it is better to choose it for rest, fishing and relaxation, and it is more convenient to go to the sights, for example, from Kamennomostsky.

Half of the work is done, the resort is selected, hotels are booked, it's time to move on to exploring the sights of Adygea.

Attractions of Adygea

There are a great many attractions in Adygea, so all that remains is to choose and plan a route. Khadzhokh gorge- a natural miracle, over which observation platforms with a transparent floor were made. The route is about 400 meters, but this is not a road along the river, but several tiers of sites, on which it is very exciting to stand. I am not afraid of heights, but transparent is always a test for nerves - as never before, you can feel the power of the river flowing under you and the height at which you are standing. But needless to say, Khadzhokh dough is very beautiful.

Rufabgo Falls- a pleasant walking route that does not require special physical training. It is easy to walk on it even with small children. The first four waterfalls are easy to reach, you walk along the path, ladders and bridges along the mountain stream, enjoy the view. Just take care of covered clothes and tick repellent, we removed one stowaway from his jacket. If you have the strength, then you can go further along the not ennobled route and find a few more waterfalls. Thunderstorm and rain drove us out of the way, so we turned back. The entrance to the waterfalls route is decorated with a bridge with another transparent floor over a wide mountain river.
-> Review of visiting Rufabgo

Azish cavegiant cave, which can only be entered as part of a guided group. There are about a lot of people, so the groups gather quickly, for example, we waited only 4 minutes. Dress warmly and get ready to go down to underworld stalactites and other rocks to a depth approximately equal to a nine-story building. Near the cave, you can ride an ATV, fly a zip line on a paraglider or go through an obstacle course in a rope park.

Parking ancient man - is a museum and cafe.

Former factory- driving along the road, it seems that you see a castle in the mountains. But this is a former lime incineration plant, which is now abandoned and provided to tourists for photo shoots.

Rock garden and dolmen- Museum of ammonites or fossilized molluscs that lived 65 million years ago. There is also a well-preserved dolmen.
-> More about visiting the museum and park

Cossack stone- a huge boulder, striking in size alone.

Lago-Naki and observation decks- starting from Dakhovskaya, the road goes up into the mountains and leads to the Lago-Naki plateau. This is a natural ensemble, the main feature of which is the stone sea, on which snow lies almost all year round, giving the impression of a lamb from the waves of the sea. On the way, there are observation platforms, which traders of honey, wine, souvenirs and tea will not allow you to pass. If you see a crowd of merchants, then there is an observation deck. I advise you to go in the afternoon, when the sun is behind you, and not to light up the photos.

Michalo-Athos monastery- a man-made landmark, one of the few.

-> Feedback on visit

Guam gorge- a picturesque and powerful canyon, along which a tourist train runs. The length of the path is 1.7 km one way, along the way, the audio guide tells about the gorge and the history associated with these places. You can walk along the gorge on foot outside the train time. For example, you can arrive in the late afternoon (by about 16-00), take a ride on the last train in one direction, and go back on foot, watching the last departing train returning tourists.
-> Impressions from the gorge and mountain train

Guzeripl and Caucasian reserve- just a beautiful place with a museum of nature, which for some reason reminded me of a biology classroom at school.

Marble canyon- a gorgeous observation deck on the way to Guzeripl. The Belaya River in all its glory. By the way, there are several viewing platforms on the way to Guzeripl, thanks to the honey sellers, you won't pass by.

Of course, these are not all the sights of Adygea, just in my opinion, the most interesting.

Excursions and other entertainments of Adygea

The main entertainments for tourists in Adygea are trips on ATVs, horseback riding, visiting thermal pools, jeeping and rafting. Similar entertainments are offered in more or less large hotels and in all tourist places. There are also numerous billboards along the road.

Also popular in Adygea rope parks with an obstacle course, they are open in almost all parks and canyons.

We were traveling in our jeep, so somehow such entertainments were bypassed. But next time we will definitely take a ride on quadrics. They did not dare to raft, as in May the water in the rivers is icy, and the current is very strong due to the rains.

Traveling around Adygea without a car is not very convenient, but they can help out organized excursions... We have never met large buses; private excursions by UAZ and other cars are more popular here.

Thermal springs, as I said, are convenient to visit in Tulsky, as well as in the village of Yaroslavskaya. The water in them is rich in silicon and other useful microelements that heal the body. Of course, in order to obtain a therapeutic effect, you need to undergo a course of procedures, and as entertainment it is simply pleasant to relax in warm water. Hotel Aquatermo (hotel description) pampers tourists with foam parties, although I myself have not been there.

How much time should be allocated for a trip to Adygea?

In general, you can come to Adygea for one day. True, you won't be able to see much, but you can get by train to Khadzhokh from Krasnodar and visit the Khadzhokh gorge, Rufabgo waterfalls, Cossack stone and even go to Lago-Naki.

In 2-3 days, you can ride to Guzeripl and Guamka, stopping at the observation decks.

We were in Adygea from May 1 to May 5, of which one day we spent at the hotel, just relaxing in the fresh air, and the rest of the days traveled along the roads. The rainy weather deprived us of some hiking trails, but we still had enough impressions. Another 2 days we spent in the village of Yaroslavskaya, which is located at the junction with Adygea, enjoying a hot thermal pool, homemade farm food, concerts of frogs and silence between them.

Weather in Adygea on May

The weather in May in Adygea is unpredictable. As local residents said, sometimes it is hot in May, and sometimes it rains. We were not particularly lucky with the weather, the heat and sun were only the first two days. The rest of the time we moved in short dashes at the moments when the rain stopped. The air was cool, an average of 15 degrees Celsius. And after our departure, Adygea was covered with a thick layer of hail. So, as luck would have it. I am glad that even such bad weather could not spoil the impressions of the sights of Adygea, yet it is beautiful in any weather.

Food in Adygea

Adyghe cheese, of course! It is delicious and fresh, it costs about 700 rubles per kilogram. We bought cheese in Kamennomostskiy near the Magnit store there is a tent with good choice cheeses. Here, at the mini market, they took ripe and tasty tomatoes, excellent bread in the store and enjoyed it.

In May, you can buy delicious strawberries at a price of 250-350 rubles per basket.

In all the cafes and restaurants that we have visited, you will be sure to be fed freshly prepared kebabs. In general, it seems to me that the whole republic smells like it.

From local dishes, we tried fried Adyghe cheese with herbs, beef and lamb soup, as well as insanely delicious stewed chicken in sour cream.

Prices depend on the level of the establishment. For example, in a hotel restaurant the prices are almost Moscow. In Belovodye - a hotel with hunting-style restaurants with a real fireplace, you also leave the amount as in an average restaurant in Moscow. But the less well-known cafes please with prices. For example, once we stopped near a cafe in the mountains we liked and dined together for 700 rubles: hot, pancakes, barbecue and soup. Everything was just amazing!

In Maykop we were in the Aquarius restaurant, apparently not the cheapest in the city. Giant portions and insanely delicious food, and the bill came out for only 1200 rubles, taking into account that we ate hot, soup and fried cheese for two.

So, the prices for food in Adygea are different, and, paradoxically, the simpler the place, the tastier the food.

Pancakes with honey and herbal tea are popular here as a snack. Such a delicious snack can be done on the viewing platforms, after a painful selection of souvenirs.

There are restaurants and cafes at hotels, in villages, as well as along the mountain road. We ourselves have never even fried a barbecue, although the hotels had comfortable gazebos, it is too tasty and inexpensive to eat in a cafe.

What to buy and bring?

In addition to standard magnets, plates, figurines of horsemen and similar souvenirs in Adygea, you can buy more useful and pleasant things. We have chosen a whole package of herbal teas: bath, vitamin, mountain, thyme. I just adore such herbs, I drink hot tea in winter, and chilled in summer.

Of course, you can buy honey in a wide variety of colors and flavors at every step. We took linden and walnuts in honey.

They bought sheep wool socks for their parents and warm belts from the dog.

If you like oriental things, then you can find cool souvenir daggers, lamps and jugs.

They also sell sheep rugs, skins, fur vests. Wine and mead are also at every step, but somehow it didn't suit us.

Roads in Adygea

Surprisingly, the roads in Adygea are of good quality almost everywhere. Firstly, we never got on a terrible serpentine - all sections are fenced off, you won't have to drive along the cliff and shake.

In some places, the roads run along sheer cliffs, there is even one place, which is popularly called "Carry my God" because of the formidable cliff overhanging the road.

In some places there are areas with broken pavement, but it did not bother us, we passed them at cruising speed.

On the roads there are often traffic police cars, they are caught for speeding, so I advise you not to violate.

In general, traveling around Adygea by car is extremely pleasant and safe.

Our journey turned out to be beautiful and rich, but how could it be otherwise when there is such beauty around?

Adygea is one of the most beautiful regions, which is rightfully proud of its history, culture and natural monuments. It is located inside the territory of the Krasnodar Territory and borders on this region on all sides. The most beautiful miraculous places of Adygea, captured in the photo, have long become business card republics. Fossilized remains of marine life are often found on its territory, and this is not surprising, because once, millions of years ago, the entire territory of Adygea was the seabed.

Here the forest-steppe is replaced by oak forests and beech-fir forests. The landscapes are breathtaking, and the variety of water resources is simply immeasurable. Water in mountain rivers, lakes and waterfalls are so clean and transparent that you can see everything that happens in underwater world... One of the most famous places Adygea, created by nature - the Lago-Naki plateau, through which all tourist routes pass.

Lagonaki plateau (Lago-Naki)

The plateau with an area of about 800 square meters is located in two regions at once: Adygea and Krasnoyarsk Territory. Once a trade route passed through it, connecting North Caucasus and the Black Sea coast.

Today, tourists can admire the virgin nature of this place: rich vegetation, unique relief, breathtaking views and stunning glaciers. Landscapes from lush greenery to cold ice can change quickly enough in a short period of time.

There are many caves in this area, the deepest of them is the "Soaring Bird", which goes 517 meters deep. And also here were discovered the sites of an ancient man and traces of the massacres between the Tatars and the mountain tribes.

Mount Fisht

The ancient people of Adyge called the most high mountain on the Lago-Naki plateau in honor of the gray-haired warrior Fisht, who, according to legend, saved his people from enemies. Its height is 2868 meters and to climb to the top, shrouded in clouds, is a rather difficult and dangerous undertaking. Those who reach the goal discover the wonders that the mountain, called the treasure island, is fraught with.

The territory of Adygea was once the seabed and confirmation of this is coral island, which has preserved the fossilized flora and fauna of the ancient Tethys Ocean.

One of the highest waterfalls in Russia - Pshekhsky - is also located here, its height is 250 meters.

Pass Devil's Gate, Mount Acheshbok

The composition created by nature, consisting of two mountains, fascinates with its appearance and intriguing name. The fact is that curved towards each other Mountain peaks similar to the horns of the devil, as they are depicted in fairy tales, and white-headed vultures nest in the rocks of Acheshbok - representatives of the family of birds of prey listed in the Red Book.

Local residents can tell many legends associated with this place. According to their custom, they call the mountains of Western and Eastern Acheshbok the Right and Left Gates. In ancient times, the path to high-mountain pastures passed through the pass "Devil's Gate". Thanks to the frequent grazing of cattle, a small passage was created under the pass, which the locals immediately called the Devil's Gate.

White River (Shkhaguash)

The Belaya River originates from the snow-capped peaks of Mount Fisht. Breaking through the rocks, the stream of water blasted its way through mountains, valleys and forests.

Along the entire length of the river, which is more than 260 kilometers, the nature of the flow is changing all the time. In the valleys it is calm, in the mountains it is swift, and in the forests it is moderately fast.

The Adyghe name of the white river is Shkhaguash. That was the name of the princess, whom her father wanted to forcefully marry, but she was able to escape. There are many legends about why the river is called Belaya. According to one version, it got its name in honor of Bela, a young Georgian captive, whom the Abadzekh prince wanted to marry. The servants threw her into the water, because she stabbed their master.

Rufabgo Falls

Picturesque waterfalls are located in the gorge of the Rufabgo River, which flows into the Belaya River. They are strikingly different from each other, but together they make up a unique composition and each has its own name.

"Cascade" is called so because the water falls, overcoming 3 cascades.

The Heart of Rufabgo gets its name from a stone in the shape of a human heart, from under which a stream of cold water rushes.

The highest waterfall is called "Lace" or "Maiden's Braid", its length is 20 meters. The stream at the Maiden's Braids waterfall is divided into three streams, which look like 3 strands of hair braided into a braid.

In the "Cup of Love" flows the purest water as if flowing into a stone container from a five-meter height.

Lake Psenodah

A characteristic feature of the Adyghe lakes is their ability to arise and disappear according to unknown laws of nature. One of them is Lake Psenodakh in the form of a crescent, 165 meters long. It is located on the site of an old ice bowl at an altitude of 1938 meters and is powered by streams and springs flowing through underground channels.

The unusual name is translated from Circassian as "beautiful well", and from Adyghe - "beautiful lake". His maximum depth reaches only 80 centimeters, and the water is so clean that the smooth surface of the lake looks like a polished lens. Sometimes, on the water surface of the lake, you can see eddies when the water begins to go into underground channels.

Khadzhokh gorge (Tuapch canyon)

This attraction is unique for its inimitable relief, unpredictable water and dangerous steep cliffs. The gorge is located in the south-west of the village of Kamennomostsky, also called Khadzhokh.

The gorge is a rocky crevice through which the Belaya River flows. Its length is 400 meters, and its depth in some places reaches 40 meters. Due to the very strong noise that occurs as a result of constant collisions of water flows with stones and ledges, the gorge is called “Noise”.

Tuapch Canyon is also one of the designations of the gorge on the maps. During a walk through this amazing and picturesque area, tourists discover wonderful views on the swift river, beating against rapids and centuries-old boulders.

Granite Canyon (Blockhouse Gorge)

The canyon appeared literally by the will of nature. Many years ago, the powerful streams of the Belaya River began to cut boulders and turned the solid massif into an amazing and colorful one. natural monument.

Lush green vegetation hanging over an abyss against a background of bright red stones - this place is as if painted by an artist. The rocky hills are covered with a green carpet “woven” of various types of trees: chestnuts, barberries, pines and beeches.

On the right bank of the canyon there is the Golden spring, from which the stream of the same name flows out, and it is so named for a reason. Once upon a time, local residents washed gold here, and the places where the stream flows were the most profitable in terms of mining.

Khadzhokh quarry

The quarry was once rich in limestone, selenite, yellow-white gypsum and fine calcite crystals. Now here you can see the remnants of a once prosperous production overgrown with grass.

Near the quarry there are dilapidated buildings with pipes. These are old lime kilns. Nearby is a new mobile plant for the processing of rocks mined in the vicinity of the village of Kamennomostsky.

At the very bottom of the quarry there is Lake Krasnoe, fed by spring springs. The reservoir got its name because of the reddish tint from the stones. The water in it is always cold, but at the same time it is very clean, despite its dull color.

Great Azish cave

This attraction is located in the southern part mountain range Azish-Tau is on the territory of the Krasnodar Territory, but it is always associated with Adygea due to its close location near the official border of the regions.

The cave became officially a natural monument only in 1973. Its length is 690 meters, and its depth is 37 meters. Traveling along the corridors of the cave, you can endlessly admire the stalactites, stalagmites, drip shapes and columns.

Some of them have their own names, for example, "Sword of Damocles" - a stalagmite in the form of a real sword hangs menacingly from the ceiling, and the "Palm of Wishes" that grew in this cave is no different from a real southern tree.

Cave Through

According to legend, the evil giant Rufabgo lived in this cave and, looking at its gigantic dimensions, one would like to believe it. You can find it near the Shum waterfall in the river valley named after the giant.

The name "Through" cave was given due to its elongated shape and the presence of two exits from the north and south sides. With a length of 25 meters, it is well ventilated, preventing sludge from forming.

Due to the karst sinkhole at the top of the cave, it is quite light inside during the day and you can walk through it even without being an experienced speleologist. The hole of the hole is shaped like an eye, and the back wall of the rock is hidden under the Colchis ivy.

Dolmen Khadzhokhsky

The Khadzhokh dolmen is one of the most mysterious archaeological sites in Adygea. Scientists still continue to argue about the purpose of these buildings. Some argue that they were used for rituals and burials, while others believe that these are the first residential buildings of ancient people who inhabited the territory thousands of years ago.

You can find the Khadzhokh dolmen in the north of the village of Kamennomostsky. Its height reaches 1.7 meters, and its width is 2.8 meters. This building was roughly built in the 3rd century BC.

Next to the dolmen there is another unusual phenomenon local nature - a tree with 14 trunks from one root.

Cossack stone

A huge stone block 35 meters high and 27 meters wide is located between the village of Kamennomostsky and the Dakhovskaya station. Once, due to natural circumstances, perhaps an earthquake or strong winds, it broke off the wall of the Una-Koz ridge, fell in this place and still blocks the way for tourists.

Like all the sights of Adygea, the stone is shrouded in myths and legends. According to one of the legends, it got its name from the unusual greeting of the Cossack chieftain sitting astride a horse at the very top of the block. The camp leader thus welcomed the Kuban inspection. This stone is also called Circassian, Shaitanov or Maiden.

Caucasian State Natural Biosphere Reserve

Officially, the territories on the southern and northern slopes of the Western Caucasus became a nature reserve on May 12, 1924. Today it is the second largest in Europe, located simultaneously on the territory of Adygea, Krasnodar Territory and Karachay-Cherkessia. Its total area is about 280 hectares.

This unique territory with rich flora and fauna is included in the number of objects World heritage UNESCO.

There are more than 3000 plant species on the territory of the reserve. Every fifth representative of the local flora is relics or endemics that grow only in this area.

The fauna of the reserve is also very diverse. Many animals have been living here ever since the territory of Adygea ceased to be the seabed.

Arboretum named after P.V. Bukreev

The history of this park begins in 1970 from the recreation center "Berezovaya". 16 years later, the territories where tourists and locals rested, admiring the enchanting landscapes of the grown seedlings, officially received the status of "Natural Monument". Today, there are about 350 tree species in the park. Its area is about 20 hectares.

This park has a beautiful pond with islets. On its shore you can find ammonites - the fossilized remains of huge sea mollusks.

There are also unusual stones of bizarre shapes on the territory of the park. Where these miraculous stone sculptures came from, no one can explain, but in local legends talk about their alien origin.

St. Michael's Athos Monastery

The monastery is located on the outskirts of the village of Pobeda and occupies a mountain plateau on the northern spurs of the Greater Caucasus Range. In clear and sunny weather, from the territory of the monastery open magnificent views Caucasus mountains... Today this place is large tourist center, the doors of which are open to tourists and pilgrims.

On the territory of the monastery there are churches: Holy Trinity, Assumption, Archangel Michael and others.

One of the structures deserves special attention - this is the mass grave of disabled people killed by the Nazis.
