Airports of poland in wwii. Poland international airports

What to do if your flight is canceled

If the flight is canceled more than 24 hours before departure, then passengers are transferred to similar flights of the airline. The costs are borne by the carrier, the service is free for the passenger. If none of the options offered by the airline suits you, most airlines can issue a "forced return". After confirmation by the airline, the money will be returned to your account. It can sometimes take several weeks.

How to check in at the airport

Online check-in is available on the websites of most airlines. Most often it opens 23 hours before the start of the flight. You can pass it no later than 1 hour before the departure of the plane.

To check in at the airport you will need:

    • the identity card specified in the order,
    • birth certificate when flying with children,
    • printed itinerary receipt (optional).
  • What you can take with you on the plane

Carry-on baggage is items that you take with you on board the aircraft. Weight norm hand luggage can vary from 5 to 10 kg, and its size most often should not exceed the sum of three dimensions (length, width and height) from 115 to 203 cm (depending on the airline). Ladies' bag is not carry-on baggage and can be carried freely.

The bag that you take with you on the plane should not contain knives, scissors, medicines, aerosols, or cosmetics. Alcohol from shops duty free can only be carried in sealed bags.

How to pay for baggage at the airport

If the weight of baggage exceeds the norms established by the airline (most often - 20-23 kg), you need to pay for each kilogram of excess weight. In addition, many Russian and foreign airlines, as well as low-cost airlines, have tariffs that do not include free transportation baggage and must be paid for separately as an additional service.

In this case, baggage must be checked in at the airport at a separate Drop-off check-in counter. If you are unable to print boarding pass, you can get it at the regular check-in counter of the airline, and check in and drop off your baggage there.

Where to find out the time of arrival if you are a greeter

You can find out the time of arrival of the aircraft on the airport's online scoreboard. The Tutu.ru website has an online scoreboard of the main Russian and foreign airports.

You can find out the number of the exit (gate) on the arrival board at the airport. This number is located next to the inbound flight information.

In total, Poland has 12 large airports, more or less covering the area of the entire country. Not all of them are the same in importance and can boast of a large passenger turnover, for example, the youngest airport in Lublin serves only a few international flights and in 2012 served only 5371 people. Below I will try to give brief description each of the airports, and over time, more detailed articles about each of them will be posted on the site.

Bydgoszcz - IATA airport code BZG, full name: International Airport. Ignacy Jan Paderewski Bydgoszcz-Švederovo

The airport is located in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, just 3.5 km from the center of Bydgoszcz. The airport website is located at http://plb.pl/. You can get to the airport from the city by bus, route number 80, which runs every half hour. You can also take a taxi to the airport at a fairly low price, only PLN 30. Today there are two airlines operating at the airport: LOT and Ryanair.

Warsaw-Modlin IATA airport code WMI, full name: Warsaw-Modlin International Airport

The airport is located 40 km from the center of Warsaw, mainly departures from charter flights and low-cost airlines. The airport website is located at www.modlinairport.pl. There are several ways to get to the airport from the city: by bus, train, or with a friend by car. Taxis are not recommended due to the long distance and high price- from 119 to 250 zlotys.

By car from the center of Warsaw, the journey will take from 45 minutes to an hour, personally I would recommend planning for 1.5 hours - sometimes you can run into repair work, because of which a traffic jam can arise as early as 6:30 in the morning. Plus, you will have more free time to park your car and look around. You can park your car in a private parking 5 kilometers from the airport or directly near the airport, in the first case you will save a little money, but spend time - you will be taken to the airport for free, in the second case you will pay more, but it will be much more convenient, usually I I choose parking near the airport.

By bus Warsaw Modlin Airport can be reached from the Central Station and the Młociny metro station, the cost of a one-way ticket is about PLN 30. Remember, the only official carrier is ModlinBus, on the carrier's website http://www.modlinbus.pl you can buy tickets online and plan your journey. Beware of “fakes”, take pity on your wallet and nerves.

By train from Warsaw you will get to the train station in Modlin within 45 minutes, a special bus runs from the train station in Modlin to the airport, the total cost of a one-way trip will be no more than 18 zlotys. 42 trains run between railway stations, of which 14 are special dedicated trains.

The driveways to the car parks are well marked, so you shouldn't have any problems finding the one you want.

By car travel will not cause big problems, use the navigator in the car, and additional signs on all the main streets will simplify the task. Ride on Taxi from the city center to the airport will cost you approx. 40 PLN, I can recommend SAWA TAXI, tel. +48 22 644 44 44 - they will definitely not cheat you there. For your economic security, I do not recommend using gray taxis.

The facility serves about 1.5 million passengers per year. Despite its small size, the terminal has comfortable transport links and a good seating area.

Polish beauty, also ample opportunities for business, shopping and transit country status attracts many travelers. In terms of transport, Poland's international airports play an extremely important role, which confirms the importance of this European state.

The extent to which the "air gates" are developed, connecting any independent country with the outside world, to a large extent speaks of its attractiveness both for tourists and for other categories of travelers who come there. Well-developed communication, including by air, coupled with modern infrastructure are the basic conditions for the attractiveness of a particular destination for foreigners.

There are many airports in Poland, but only a few of them have international status and serve flights to other countries. According to which airlines they work with and what is the seasonality of arrivals / departures by months of the year, there are 3 main categories of Polish airports:
