International airlines never tire of improving their service, trying to win first positions. The “best of the best” impress passengers with many things: chairs with massagers, menus from chefs, the ability to check the weather from robots, and even babysitting services for children. Qatar Airways is renowned for its excellent business class and first class lounge. Among European air carriers, Lufthansa stands out. And the main thing is that each airline has its own “face” and its own philosophy. In this review we have collected the top 10.

10. Garuda Indonesia

Garuda Indonesia, which has been operating since 1947, opens the ranking of the best airlines in the world. Unusual name associated with the mythical bird of the god Vishnu - Garuda (symbol of Indonesia). The airline carries passengers to 12 countries. Clients note high level cleanliness and friendly service. The headquarters of the Indonesian airline is located at the capital's Soekarno-Hatta Airport. There are private waiting rooms where you can have a snack and connect to the Internet.

Lufthansa is the national carrier of Germany and one of the largest and best airlines in the world. It has been operating since 1926 and owns the world's second largest aircraft fleet, consisting of 700 aircraft. The airline’s network of routes is also quite wide - 410 points to which flights are carried out (Europe, Asia, Africa, America).

Customers can use one of three classes: first, business and economy. There are a number of promotions and additional services. For corporate clients – “Star Alliance Company Plus”, for private passengers – “Star Alliance”. The merits of Lufthansa were noted in 1997 by inviting it to the prestigious airline alliance StarAlliance.

Qantas Airways is one of the best airlines in Australia, nicknamed the “Flying Kangaroo”. It is one of the oldest in the world (founded in the 20s), second only to KLM and Avianca. Qantas Airways' activities began with air transportation. Today the company is based in Sydney and is the second largest airline in Australia (ahead of KLM). The average age of aircraft is 10 years. The route goes to 140 cities. Qantas Airways is considered one of the most... safe airlines in the world. The aircraft are equipped with video and audio systems for customer entertainment. An interesting service for passengers is the opportunity to try a dish from the country they are traveling to.

EVA Air is a Taiwanese airline established in the 80s. Headquartered at Tai'an Taoyuan Airport and providing domestic and international flights. EVA Air's destinations include Asia, Europe, North Africa and Australia (about 70 destinations). It is the second largest airline in Taiwan.

EVA Air has implemented robotic customer service at Taoyuan and Songshan airports. Robot Robert, after scanning the ticket, can communicate with the client - provide information about the departure, weather, promotions and company bonuses. You can dance with the robot, take photos together, or play games. It is also interesting that on some planes, airline employees fly in liveries with images of cartoon characters. For example, Hello Kitty.

EVA Air aircraft offer 3 classes of service: economy, premium economy and business. It is worth noting flight safety - EVA Air aircraft were not involved in major aircraft accidents.

One of the most popular airlines in the world, Turkish Airlines, began operating in 1933 and is based in Istanbul. At first it was a national carrier, but today 49% of the shares belong to the state and 51% to private owners. There are two service options to choose from: economy and business. The geography of routes covers 220 foreign airports in Europe, America, Asia and Africa (80 countries in total). The company has the youngest fleet of aircraft - on average 3.5 years old. During the flight, passengers are offered snacks, Turkish meze and dessert. Turkish Airlines is focused on medium-haul flights.

5. Etihad Airways

Etihad Airways is in the middle of the world airline ranking. This is a national company of the UAE, operating since 2003. It was created by decree of the sheikh. The headquarters is located in Abu Dhabi. In just 5 years of existence, Etihad Airways has increased the number of passengers by 6 million. It is the fastest growing airline in the world, which was facilitated by the Skytrax award: in 2016, the air carrier was awarded for the quality of first class (including in-flight meals and seats).

The name Etihad Airways means "union", implying the relationship between passengers and the airline. The Arab understanding of luxury is reflected in comfort during travel: in first class there is a two-meter chair-bed and a chef, in economy there is a touch screen and three dishes to choose from. During long trips, you are provided with an amenity kit (socks, toothpaste and brush, earplugs, sleep mask). Passengers with children can order babysitting services.

4. Cathay Pacific

Hong Kong airline flying to 51 countries (200 routes) in Asia, Africa, New Zealand and Australia. Cathay Pacific is one of only six airlines to be highly rated by Skytrax (5 stars). The airline has been operating since 1946 - it was opened former pilots Air Force, American and Australian. Cathay Pacific was initially based in Shanghai, then moved to Hong Kong. The air fleet includes more than 90 aircraft (average age - 10 years). Entertainment for passengers includes cinema, music, magazines, and an airline boutique. On long flights, passengers are offered a night kit.

Singapore Airlines opens the top three airlines in the world. It has been operating since 1947 and provides flight services to 35 countries (more than 60 cities). Changi Airport (Singapore) is the base airport. If a passenger transits through it, he will be offered a free two-hour tour. Singapore Airlines is guided by the philosophy that the passenger should receive the maximum comfortable stay aboard. Even economy class passengers will appreciate the high level of comfort during the flight: plenty of legroom, multimedia, monitors. You can use the Internet or watch a movie. The airline has more than a hundred aircraft in its fleet, but not a single aircraft has been in operation for more than five years.

Qatar Airways is ranked 2nd in the list of the best airlines in the world. It is the national airline of Qatar and is headquartered in Doha. Flights are operated to five continents - more than 130 destinations (all international). The average age of aircraft is 5 years. In 2017, Qatar Airways launched the world's longest flight, from Qatar to New Zealand.

According to the rating of the British resource Skytrax, Qatar Airways is a 5-star airline. Passengers are seated on wide seats with a massage function. Everyone has their own blanket, pillow and headphones. There is an entertainment center with the ability to watch movies, listen to music and use the Internet.

Qatar Airways customers note the variety of the menu: rice, stewed vegetables, salads, sandwiches. Transit passengers are offered to spend time not at the airport, but in a hotel - the airline helps to obtain a temporary visa and provides a transfer (the service may be paid or free).

Emirates Airline tops our top 10 “best airlines in the world” ranking. The company was opened in the 80s in Dubai to develop UAE tourism. The Emirates Airline fleet (250 aircraft) is one of the youngest in the world. The average age of transport is 5.6 years.

The airline positions itself as a global carrier, operating regular flights to all continents of the planet. From the Dubai base airport you can fly to 140 cities. Emirates Airline ranks first in terms of total number of international flights.

Emirates Airline also does not forget about the quality of service. Most aircraft are equipped entertainment centers: you can watch a movie, listen to music, play a game or follow interactive map flight. Passengers with children are also taken care of: babies can watch takeoff and landing through the eyes of a pilot thanks to the Airshow channel, and parents with babies are given an essential kit with hygiene products.

Summing up 2017 Federal agency air transport published brief work statistics civil aviation RF. The big picture for the participants rating of Russian airlines 2018 looks good. The air transportation market continues to develop, and almost all reliable Russian airlines included in the list demonstrated an average increase in the number of passengers and kilometers flown by 15%. At the same time, the weight of the top five airlines continues to grow. If in 2017 they occupied 67.4% of the total volume, then in 2018 it was already 85%.

Opens the rating of the largest airlines in Russia Nordwind Airlines, aka " North wind" Over the past year, the number of passengers amounted to 3.5 million people and increased by 95% compared to 2016. Passenger turnover also showed growth, increasing by 44%.

One of the largest charter carriers in Russia, which transported more than 2.2 million passengers in 2017, was called to the carpet by the Federal Air Transport Agency in the summer of 2016 due to constant long flight delays of up to several tens of hours. The carrier promised to take action. In case of inability to arrange regular flights to exact time the company faces restrictions on transportation.

Azur Air was a subsidiary of UTair, but two years ago it set out on its own. In 2017, the number of passengers of the company amounted to 3.6 million people, almost 2/3 more compared to 2016.

Globus is part of the S7 Group, being a subsidiary of the airline giant Siberia, which took second place in the ranking of the best airlines. 2017 turned out to be favorable for the company - the number of passengers increased by 20.2%, amounting to 4.1 million people.

The Aeroflot subsidiary, which took over the baton from Dobroleta, which died as a result of UES sanctions, is positioned as a budget company. Although the first tickets for the new airline's flights were sold only two years ago, it confidently entered the top 10 airlines in Russia.

The number of passengers in 2017 amounted to 4.3 million people, an increase of 5% compared to 2016. Despite its youth, Pobeda’s flights have already become surrounded by scandals. Users are dissatisfied with the policy of keeping silent about the real price of a flight, demands to pay for the opportunity for families to sit together, flight delays and cases when more tickets are sold for a flight than the number of seats.

In fifth place in the ranking of Russian airlines in 2018 are “ Ural Airlines", transported 7.5 million people in 2017, demonstrating an increase of 25%. In the meantime, the company is demanding that the Federal Air Transport Agency pay for the transportation of WWII veterans to celebrate the anniversary of the Victory in 2015. The Federal Air Transport Agency rejected the application for payment, citing the fact that it did not contain the words “including VAT” and other points of the same importance.

The owner of the world's largest operating helicopter fleet appears to have recovered from the crisis of late 2014. In 2017, the number of passengers transported by this company amounted to 6.8 million people, an increase of 9.1% compared to 2016.

The second subsidiary of giant Aeroflot, which made it into the top ten of the 2018 Russian airline rankings, carried more than 10.6 million people last year, posting an impressive 41.5% growth in passenger numbers - the highest of any ranked airline. At the same time, passenger turnover increased by 55.3%.

In second place in the ranking of the largest airlines in Russia is Siberia, also known as S7 Airlines, which carries out transportation to 83 destinations both in Russia and abroad. Most of the latter, however, are served by partner airlines. In total, 9.3 million passengers were transported in 2017.

Russians continue to fly on Aeroflot planes. In 2017, the company transported more than 30.5 million people, surpassing Siberia, which took second place in the rating, by more than 3 times. It is not surprising, since Aeroflot is the largest and oldest Russian airline, which has been transporting passengers since 1923. Although the company was included in the black sanctions list of Ukraine, this does not prevent the increase in the number of shipments.

According to such criteria as the number of passengers and passenger turnover, the company recorded an increase of 12% over the past year. By the way, Aeroflot can also be called one of the safest airlines in Russia in 2018– not a single thing happened on her lines major plane crash, including, of course, subsidiaries and misfortunes caused by the actions of third parties. In the airline safety rating published in 2017 by the auditing company JACDEC, Aeroflot is in 37th place.

"received a four-star rating from the British Skytrax for the level of service. 38 airlines in the world now have a similar rating, seven airlines have a higher five-star rating, reports the correspondent website.

Aeroflot received four stars for the level of service in all classes and types of routes, but for certain parameters the ratings were slightly lower. This mainly concerns service at airports.

In economy class airport services, only three stars were awarded to check-in services, arrival services, and transfer services, and the organization of boarding for flights was awarded only two and a half. Only luggage delivery received four stars.

On board in economy class, the cleanliness of the cabin and toilets, the in-flight entertainment system, Internet access on long flights, and the quality of food on short flights are rated four stars. Aeroflot earned three and a half points for the comfort of seats, pillows and blankets, quality of food on long-haul flights, and three points for entertainment on short-haul flights. The worst situation is with the press - two points on long routes and three on the rest.

The work of the crew is rated four stars in terms of efficiency and attitude towards customers (but only 3-3.5 stars in terms of interaction with them), friendliness, consistency of service, fulfilling passenger requests, knowledge of languages, maintaining standards by all crew members. In general, cabin crew performance ratings are the most consistent and highest among all service areas.

In premium economy class, in terms of airport service, transfer service, arrival service and baggage delivery are rated four stars. three and a half - registration and organization of boarding for the flight. On board in premium economy class, four stars are given in all respects - from seat comfort to the availability of press. The same goes for the crew, with two exceptions: three and a half stars for customer interaction, and attention throughout the flight.

The usual airport service for business class turned out to be even better - four stars in almost all respects except check-in (three and a half). But passengers have complaints about service in business lounges: four points were received only for cleanliness, attitude of staff and quality of food (but not for the choice of food). Three and a half points were awarded to the comfort and general atmosphere in the halls, accessibility and convenience of seats, privacy, choice of food, Internet access, efficiency in problem solving, hospitability of service, friendliness of staff and knowledge of foreign languages.

On board in business class, all parameters are rated four stars - both on long- and short-haul flights. Among these parameters, in addition to those previously mentioned in economy class, are also meals at any time at the request of the passenger. Flight attendants also received four points in all respects.

On this moment in the Skytrax rating, in addition to Aeroflot, there are two Russian airlines- its subsidiary carriers "Russia" (two stars) and "Siberia" (S7 Airlines) (three stars). Seven airlines in the world have the highest rating of 5 stars - ANA All Nippon Airways, Cathay Pacific, Garuda Indonesia, Asiana Airlines, Hainan Airlines, Qatar Airways and Singapore Airlines. Only the last four of them have flights to Russia.

In addition to Aeroflot, 38 carriers have four stars. These are Air Astana, Air Canada, Air Dolomiti, Air France, Air Mauritius, Air New Zealand, Air Seychelles, Austrian Airlines, Azerbaijan Airlines, Bangkok Airways, British Airways, China Airlines, China Southern Airlines, Dragonair, Edelweiss Air, Emirates, EVA Air, Finnair, Hong Kong Airlines, JAL, JetBlue, KLM, Korean Air, Lufthansa, Oman Air, Porter Airlines, Qantas, Royal Air Maroc, Saudi Arabian Airlines, Silkair, South African Airways, SWISS, Thai Airways, Tianjin Airlines, Turkish Airlines, Virgin Atlantic, Virgin America, Virgin Australia. Only 14 of them regularly fly to Russia.

Vacations in distant countries are good. But the issue of transport often spoils everything, because it sometimes takes a very long time to get to your destination. In this case, if you do not want to spend several precious hours of your life in an uncomfortable position, you need to look only for the best airlines in the world. This is what we will help you with today. So, here are the top ten best air carriers according to tripadvisor.com users.

10. Garuda Indonesia

It's easy to guess from the name that Garuda Indonesia is the national airline of Indonesia. She enters SkyTeam alliance. What’s great is that there are a lot of non-stop flights: about forty to domestic destinations and twenty international destinations. The company operates mainly in its region, but also offers flights to other parts of the world.

Its geography covers thirteen countries of the world: Oceania, Asia, the Near and Middle East and Europe. For those who do not want to spend extra, there are special economy flights. One interesting thing is that the airline has entire planes that offer only economy class tickets. IN air fleet There are also liners with 2 administrative class cabins (analogous to business class) and three-cabin cars (economy, administrative, 1st class).

Garuda Indonesia's hub airports are two international airports - Ngurah Rai (in Bali) and Soekarno Hatta (near Jakarta). They have the widest selection of flights in their country; in some destinations there are not even alternatives. Prices are generally above average.

Asian airlines can sometimes be unpunctual, but Garuda is a pleasant exception, and this is very important, especially for business trips. If you are wondering which airlines are best to fly in this region, you can safely choose the Indonesian option. You will receive wonderful service, delicious food, fast check-in, the best perfectly polite staff and a movie on the road.

9. Alaska Airlines

Alaska is the seventh largest airline in the United States. It serves about a hundred destinations in its homeland and its neighbors - Mexico and Canada. About twenty destinations in the state of Alaska alone. Four transportation hubs in the cities of Los Angeles, Portland, Seattle and Anchorage. Most of the airline's aircraft have two classes of service: first and economy.

In economy, modest snacks and drinks are free, but you will have to pay about 6-7 dollars extra for food. You will also have to pay separately for a luxury that many airlines do not have – Internet access. The network is available from takeoff to landing (with the exception of only a few flights, for example, over the ocean to Hawaii). A special account is created for you, where money is deposited from the card, and these funds can be spent on accessing the Internet.

If you have a long flight with Alaska Airlines, you can also pay to rent a tablet, which has the latest movies and interesting games. The gadget's charge lasts for a long time, so you don't have to worry about it running out of charge at the most inopportune moment. The airline has “lounges” for first-class passengers in two dozen cities, as well as a loyalty program for regular customers. The staff is helpful and smiling, from check-in to boarding. In general, it’s not for nothing that Alaska is included in the ranking of the best airlines in the world.

8. Thai Smile

“Thai Smile” (translated from English as “Thai smile”) is a subsidiary of Thai Airways International. Like Garuda Indonesia, it is a regional carrier. The airline's two main airports are in Bangkok. Comfortable Airbus A320s are used to transport passengers. The seats in the cabin are arranged in such a way that even large passengers feel quite comfortable. Flight attendants are always ready to help, give those around them their charming Thai Smiles, and happily help fill out forms for visas and migration cards.

The airline's planes fly to domestic destinations: Phuket, Chiang Mai, Songkla, Isan provinces, etc. THAI Smile is already expanding, you can buy tickets to Malaysia, China and Macau. Here, as at THAI Airways, regular customers join the Royal Orchid Plus program: earn bonus miles and receive concessions in luggage weight.

On the plus side, tickets can be significantly cheaper than those of competitors. The difference could be $200, and you won't notice the difference in service or comfort. Even if your flight lasts only an hour, you will certainly be treated to juice and cake! Another worthy representative of the list of the best airlines in the world.

7.Japan Airlines

Japan Airlines, as the name suggests, is the largest airline in Japan. Here you will find flights that allow you to fly non-stop to six dozen domestic and three dozen international destinations. Japan Airlines planes regularly fly to 5 parts of the world: Asia, Oceania, Europe, North and South America.

The airline has a large selection of classes on its planes: first class, administrative, premium economy, special class J (economy, only with wide seats - the best choice for budget travel) and economy. Japan Airlines has two, three and four cabin aircraft. The main airports for Japanese airlines are in Tokyo and Narita.

Even in economy class, passengers will be comfortable: they can watch a movie, get delicious food, and sit comfortably in the seat. From check-in to deplaning, you will receive perfect service. Airbuses are modern: you can even dim the window glass yourself using touch controls - a service in the best Japanese traditions.

Spacious business class. Everywhere is clean, the toilets have everything you need, even toothbrushes. There is a lot of entertainment, flying is not boring. The food is decent, especially the special meals that are ordered separately.

Registration opens three days in advance; when purchasing in person, you can choose your seats, so if you book tickets through a travel agency, you may already get seats at the very end.

6. Korean Air

National (and largest) air carrier South Korea. The base is located in Seoul. With Korean Air you can fly directly, without transfers of up to a hundred international airports almost all over the world. The Korean airline is part of the second largest alliance, SkyTeam (Aeroflot is also a member).

There are three classes of service on board: economy, prestige (analogous to business class) and first. Transit hubs are located in Seoul and Incheon. So if you are about to fly to Korea, the question of which airline is best to fly with will disappear by itself.

Always a comfortable cabin, excellent conditions even in economy class and even over long distances. The staff is friendly and polite. There are several food options to choose from along the way, including some authentic Korean food. Alcohol is served to adults and toys are offered to children. They give you slippers, blankets, toothbrushes. On the built-in screen you can watch a movie with Russian translation.

Why is the company not in 1st place? Sometimes there are still delays. But a large selection of duty-free on board and wine during turbulence make people fly Korean Air again and again.

5.Air New Zealand

The national airline of New Zealand, based in Auckland. The carrier serves fifty destinations. About half of them are local destinations, and the rest are cities in fifteen countries in Asia, Oceania, Europe and the North. America.

Passengers never tire of praising the newest comfortable aircraft that fly to local destinations. The chairs can have footrests that can be raised to turn them into a comfortable bed. Interesting program programs, delicious food (they serve ice cream!), smiling staff, comfortable lighting.

True, older aircraft are also flown over long distances. There may be problems with service and convenience. But there is a plus: if you are flying together, for a fee on long flights the seat between you will remain free (two of you can sit in three seats). All aircraft painted with interesting prints: these are images of animals, characters from books and films (for example, “The Hobbit”) and so on.

4.JetBlue Airways

The American baby JetBlue has become a leader thanks to its budget. The carrier operates nonstop direct flights to nearly 90 American airports and also operates outside the United States. You can buy plane tickets to many countries in this part of the world.

Even on old planes, the large distance between the seats is pleasing (apparently, this was influenced by the Americans with their large figures). Fast registration and loading. Onboard service is decent, and wireless internet is free and mostly stable. Only water and snacks are provided free of charge; you will have to pay for drinks, food and multimedia in economy class. But this is the norm in the USA.

In addition, all inconveniences are covered low price for tickets. There are built-in screens in the seat backs. Several programs are offered for viewing, including a children's program. If you have to travel with luggage, then it is more profitable to book a ticket with luggage than to pay for bags separately at the airport.

3. Azul Brazilian Airlines

Azul - too a budget option flight. It operates in Brazil and flies to hundreds of destinations. The advantage of the airline is that it flies to undeveloped and unpopular destinations. And that is why it is among the top best airlines in the world.

Although tickets are cheaper than competitors, the service is no worse. Most flights are operated by small Embraer aircraft that can accommodate no more than one hundred people. There are almost no delays, everything is on schedule. Delicious snacks during the flight and the smiles of the flight attendants will lift your spirits. Airplane cabins are kept clean. The screens show local and American programs, but you need your own headphones.

Even in economy class they offer soft drinks and snacks: chips, cookies, marmalade... The flight attendants deserve special praise, as they treat each passenger with sincere care. Probably for this reason, the airline, little known outside Brazil, took its place in the ranking of the best airlines in the world 2017.

2. Singapore Airlines

Singaporean national air carrier, one of the largest in the world. A network of more than sixty destinations spans six continents. The planes here are real giants, wide-body, quiet. In flight there is almost no shaking at all. There are four classes of service to choose from: suite, first, business and economy. There are special waiting rooms for premium clients.

Singapore Airlines has repeatedly been included in the list of the best in the world. The interior is perfectly clean and warm. They provide blankets, which, by the way, are not taken away before boarding, as in several other well-known airlines. The service is beyond praise. The planes have 10-inch screens on which films are shown in Russian. To make it easier to navigate, it is better to look for the movie you are interested in not on the electronic menu, but in a paper magazine. If there is a letter R, then there is Russian voice acting.

The food on board is excellent, and smiling flight attendants serve metal cutlery, which is very rare on flights. The crew creates a homely atmosphere, offering various little things like toothbrushes, razors, combs, socks... One of the features is the limited supply of alcohol. After all, Singapore is a Muslim country. And one more thing - we do not recommend sitting near the toilets: the passengers are often exotic and with many children, which means it can be noisy and they will constantly scurry past you.

Treating the client like a king. The flight attendants are in a beautiful uniform and surround you with care. On some planes (for example, on a flight from Moscow to Dubai) there is a free bar on the second floor. A wide selection of menu items and plenty of entertainment available during the flight. By default, every seat has pillows, blankets and headphones, even in economy class.

For built-in screens there is a catalog of movies, music, and games. On the screen you can watch in real time a broadcast from video cameras as the plane approaches runway and rises into the sky.
