Grigory Usyskin. Essays on the history of Russian tourism

Hello everyone! Articles about tourism are now in great demand, and therefore a novice author simply needs to know: where to look for material for a future masterpiece, how to write articles on this topic and sell them, and most importantly, how to turn a customer into a regular customer. I will tell you about everything in stages, and you "shake your head" and apply in practice. So let's go!

Who needs articles on tourism anyway?

First, let's talk a little about who will buy your articles.

  • Travel firms, real estate agencies, hotel and hotel sites;
  • Websites that profit from affiliate programs or advertising.

Why do you need to know about this? First, such portals pay handsomely for unique and interesting content. Second, talented authors can look forward to long-term partnerships. Therefore, well-written articles are a guarantee of constant receipt of funds for bread and butter and a glass of wine.

Looking for ideas and inspiration

It is a pleasure to write articles about tourism for free sale (and for customers). But if a customer can say: “I need an article about the most popular boarding houses in Crimea with such and such keywords” - it immediately becomes clear what to write about and what to insert.

As for free sales, here your flight of imagination is not limited, and you can write an article about anything by selecting the appropriate key queries. However, due to the wide choice of topics, some authors make an unforgivable mistake - they write about a country or city in general terms. The result is not an article, but a synopsis of geography.

Therefore, I suggest that you narrow down the topics and make small flowcharts (just create in Worde, but better on paper, so that it is in front of your eyes).

Then you can think over the body of the article and write headings, for example:

  • Top 5 museums in Rouen (fine arts / ceramics / Pierre Corneli / Gustave Flaubert, etc.) or write about each separately;
  • How can the whole family have fun in Paris? (Asterix park / Disneyland / Aquabul water park). You can write a whole series of articles on each topic, for example - Excursions in Paris with children: a trip to Disneyland.
  • How to choose an inexpensive hotel in Bordeaux?
  • What to bring from Strasbourg?

I think that after studying the flowchart and reading the little list in your minds, ideas and thoughts rush at a mind-boggling speed. Write them down, look at the above template and create content about any country or city.

Where is the storehouse of information?

Do you want to learn how to write articles and make money on the Internet? Right now, I have a recruitment for free training according to the author's methodology. BOOK UP WITH PAUL YAMBU

If you are an avid traveler, then there should be no problems with collecting materials for future articles. As well as unique photographs that give the content a finished look. Especially when you write in a notebook / diary / notebook or on a voice recorder (and do not keep a bunch of information in your head) and take pictures interesting places and picturesque landscapes.

However, not everyone can afford long-distance travel for a number of reasons, so I suggest that you familiarize yourself with other ways of obtaining information.

  1. Foreign sites. If you know the "foreign" language, then feel free to translate and rewrite articles.
  2. Travel magazines / brochures / guides. Use Around the World, Traveler, Tourism, Voyage, Travel Jay, National Geographic, Turmir, Geo. Ask your friends to bring not souvenirs as a gift, but brochures from hotels / restaurants / airports, etc.
  3. Subject forums. There is a dime a dozen information, and adventure lovers willingly share with it. You can read entire travel notes with tips, fun facts, or unforeseen events. However, it is advisable to double-check everything you read for false facts.
  4. The television. Yes, zomboyaschik can offer a lot of interesting materials for articles about tourism. For example, the programs "The Journey of a Naturalist", "Unlucky Notes", "Heads and Tails", "The World Inside Out". And also entire channels dedicated to travel: "Discovery", "National Geographic Channel", "My Planet", "Travel + Adventure", "Travel Channel".

Watch broadcasts, make notes in a notebook / notebook, write notes and rewrite. There is no need to mindlessly rewrite the information received and put it on sale - someone could have done it before you. As a result, you will have to rewrite the article, increasing its uniqueness, and this is long and tedious.

Now about the construction of the article

For each article, you need to draw up a plan and texts about tourism are no exception. Let's take a look at how to make a plan for an informative article. For example, you want to write about a trip to the island of Santorini.

  1. Where is he / what is the place?
  2. Interesting facts / why is it popular / what is known?
  3. Who will be interested in the trip / what kind of vacation?
  4. What should you see?

You can use the outline as a hint or template to describe other interesting places.

Now look at the outline for a highly focused article. For example, you decided to dedicate an article to the Clos-Luce castle.

  1. A short history (write so that the reader does not fall asleep - lively, but without fanaticism);
  2. What's interesting / noteworthy?
  3. What to focus on?
  4. Curious information;
  5. How to get there?
  6. What is the ticket price?

At the end of the articles, you can give readers good advice or write about another interesting fact.

A little useful

For free sales, it's better to do a series of articles. Firstly, it is much easier to write this way, because in search of the necessary material for one article, you will shovel a lot of other information on the topic. For example, you wanted to write about hotels in Germany, but besides that, you will find a lot of interesting things about sights, cuisine, souvenirs, etc. So use the information to the fullest!

Secondly, customers prefer to purchase a "package" of articles at once. If, after reading one article, the customer likes the style of writing, content and design, then the likelihood of buying out the rest of the content will increase significantly.

In order for the customer to pay attention to your texts in the article store, write in the annotation for whom the content is intended (for a travel site, for example), what keywords you used (high-, medium-, low-frequency) and briefly describe what the article is about whether it has tips, lists, subheadings, and pictures.

Write articles as if for yourself. Imagine what you would like to get from the content you write. Don't forget about tips and tricks:

  • what dishes to try?
  • where to go and how?
  • where to spend the night?
  • what souvenirs to bring?

Listen to the customer (I have about him) and take into account his opinion. The main thing for him is to break into the top, increase traffic and turn readers into clients of the travel agency. Therefore, if you write an article about how a shark bit off a man's leg in Egypt or about the terrible service of the hotel and about the maid stealing in it, they will not pat you on the head, and moreover, the order will not be paid. While it is very useful for your own blog to write provocative articles - they spur readers' interest.

Well, it seems everything. Now you are savvy and ready to write the first (and maybe the tenth) article on tourism. Write in the comments about your successes.

Recently, posts of various content have been accepted for publication from visitors registered on that site, namely, the stories of tourists about travel, reviews of establishments and different stories (funny and not so funny) that happened to compatriots (and not necessarily compatriots) during their stay on foreign land (abroad or in other parts of Russia) on the occasion of a business trip or vacation.

Travel stories

Here are collected stories about the places where our Russians (and not only Russians) went on vacation, as well as travel diaries of tourists. The reports of travelers about their trips abroad or across Russia, collected in this section, claiming to be a work of art, are neatly arranged into the appropriate subsections.

Each story or travel diary, in addition to useful textual information, is supplied with a dozen other photographic materials, filmed in the places where the author of the story was using a digital camera, tablet or simple mobile phone. The reader, even with a cursory examination of such a post, will already have a sufficient idea of what will await him in this or that corner of the planet.

Reviews about establishments

This section is intended to collect feedback on various kinds of commercial establishments (shops, cafes, restaurants, pharmacies, hairdressers, car services, shoe repairs and others) located both abroad and in Russia. Each of these reviews was written either by the administration of that web project, or by registered visitors who once visited those establishments.

The main advantage of Norge-info is that all reviews by and large are like a short story, which lists such main points as the process of visiting a cafe, restaurant or other institution, its legal address. And, of course, the advantages and disadvantages.

In addition, it is worth mentioning that the Norge-info administration is fighting for the quality of the web resource, minimizing the number of so-called paid "fake" reviews as much as possible. The fact is that only those visitors registered on Norge-info who have been assigned the status of Journalists can leave their opinion about the hotel, restaurant, shop and other institutions. To achieve this status, you will need to publish a certain minimum number of posts.

Traveler stories

In this case, we are talking about the cases told by the travelers where they describe the situation in which this or that tourist (or business trip) found himself during his vacation, business trip or living abroad. Such cases could have happened for various reasons: a faulty knowledge of a foreign language, local traditions and customs, as well as the traveler's own absent-mindedness and oversight.

Without a doubt, all the stories presented in this section will seem quite interesting and fascinating to a certain circle of people. And those who have never found themselves in such situations may be interested in these posts, if only because banal curiosity will prevail.

Collected in this section narrated by tourists short stories about what a sad experience they had during the trip, in what awkward situation they found themselves due to the fact that they mixed up foreign words, how they were robbed during their vacation and other troubles they experienced abroad. And not only abroad.

If you are planning to go on a trip to Russia (to resorts near the Black Sea, to the Volga delta or to Far East), it can be impossible to predict everything. So, having gone on a trip on your favorite iron horse, you already cherish the dream to quickly find yourself in a long-awaited place. And then an unplanned stop occurs due to a car breakdown. You have to call a tow truck to transport the car to the nearest car service.

There are many such examples.

Welcome to the Norge-info project!

Writing about travel and tourism is always a special pleasure for me. I am sure that for many other authors too. Working on articles about cities and countries is also a way to broaden your horizons and sometimes choose a destination for your next vacation. So, for example, after a long cooperation with a St. Petersburg travel agency, for which I made a series of descriptions of hotels and hotels, my half and I broke into the city on the Neva - to see the sights. And settled in wonderful place on Alexander Nevsky Square, never regretting his choice.

Articles on travel and tourism are usually ordered by various travel agencies, real estate agencies, hotel websites, they are bought by the owners of large portals about cities and countries. As a rule, all of these sites need content on an ongoing basis, which means that a well-executed one-time order is the basis for a long-term relationship. In my practice, there was a long-term cooperation with a large travel agency, which spent about 30,000 rubles a month only to pay for my services. When we stopped keeping within this budget, and it was time to leave, it was a pity - after all, writing on the topic of tourism is easy and pleasant.

Articles on the topic of tourism are in demand at any time of the year. Closer to the summer, the demand for articles about Russian resorts, in autumn and winter - to materials about Egypt, Thailand and other countries where summer is all year round. That is why today I wanted to discuss with you some of the features of creating articles on travel topics.

Travel article ideas

As a rule, customers do not set a clear framework for this topic. Maximum - a few key phrases and the general direction of the text. Tourism articles are also well bought from free sales. Therefore, you usually have to come up with ideas for texts yourself. Let's say we want to write an article about Egypt. But what exactly are we going to write about?

The very first option that comes to mind is to write about the country “in general”. But would such an article be interesting? Will it start to resemble a chapter from a geography textbook? The broader the topic, the harder it is to write a quality article. You will invariably begin to stray to " average annual temperature»And listing of other obvious information. No matter how hard you try, you will most likely get a rewrite of the encyclopedic article. I suggest narrowing the topic down.

For instance:

· 10 interesting facts about Egypt (already - "... about Hurghada", "... about Sharm el-Sheikh", "... about the pyramids", "... about the hotel service of Egypt")
· How to relax in Egypt for 10,000 rubles?
How to choose a hotel in Egypt for family vacation?
· Excursions in Egypt - where to go? (an option is to make separate articles for each excursion and combine them into a series, for example "Excursions in Egypt: Going to Luxor", "Excursions in Egypt: Desert Safari")
· What to bring from Egypt? ("Souvenirs of Egypt. Bargaining is appropriate!")

As you read this list, I'm sure you have many more ideas! Moreover, according to the same or similar schemes, you can write articles about different cities and countries.

Useful Tips

· When writing an article, introduce your reader. Most likely, this is a person who is going on vacation and is looking for information about a country or city. Therefore, there is no need to make long excursions into history - the guide will give him a lecture upon arrival at the place. It is worth focusing on practical advice - where to buy what, where to go, what to eat in local restaurants etc.

· Consider the interests of your customer. If your customer is a travel agency, you are unlikely to be grateful for criticism of hotel service, forcing the political situation and horror stories about tourists drowned or eaten. But if you write for your blog, for example, then investigations, sensations, exposures and criticism will only spur readers' interest.

· If you are writing for free sale, try to do a series of articles. Firstly, writing a series is always easier than scattered texts. While you are collecting material about hotels in Egypt, you will find a lot of information about national cuisine, excursions, souvenirs, etc., which can be immediately used for the next job. Secondly, series are more readily bought by site owners. Chances are high that by purchasing one of your work, the customer will want to receive the entire series.

Where to get information?

The most ideal option is from personal experience... If you've been somewhere recently, I'm sure you have something to tell. When my half and I went to Egypt a few years ago, I was a constant subject of jokes, since I went everywhere with a notebook and only had time to write down ideas for future articles. There was enough material for a good guide book. Then the same situation was repeated in Abkhazia, in St. Petersburg, in Israel and so on. Even if I no longer had the need to write articles for sale, I still could not get rid of the habit of sharing my feelings and impressions, transferring the experience gained on paper.

But there are other options, for example:

· Shows and films about travel. Almost every TV channel has similar programs. "Their Manners", "Around the World", "Unlucky Notes", a series of films "Golden Globe", the Discovery TV channel to help you. While watching the program, make a summary, on the basis of which the article will later be written.

· Magazines and guides. GEO and GEO Traveler, Golden Globe, National Geographic and many others. Ask your friends to bring you from your trips not just another fridge magnet, but brochures and magazines from hotels and airports. Once my parents brought me several brochures from Italy, which later formed the basis for a whole series of articles on Italian cuisine with exclusive recipes. True, I had to translate them, but only from English, fortunately, not Italian.

· Reviews and stories from travelers. There are forums on the Internet where seasoned tourists gather, for example, Vinsky's forum. Sometimes whole diaries with detailed reports are posted there, sometimes just descriptions of facts and events, answers to questions from other members of the forum about a country or city. On the forums, you can find a ton of factual material that, after your literary processing, can turn into an article. For example, I once did a great review of Czech breweries based on a multi-page discussion of seasoned tourists and beer lovers on the forum. Of course, all material from the forums should be checked and evaluated for objectivity!

Of course, I do not urge you to copy other people's articles or reviews, literally rewrite programs. But the listed sources of information will give you material to work with.

The topic of tourism is a real gold mine, not only for the wallet, but also for broadening one's horizons. Travel articles are slowly becoming outdated, always in demand, and enjoy writing! Write an article today!

Dear blog readers! If you liked the article, click on any of the buttons below to share it on social networks. This will be your best "thank you" for the material. Did you like the article? Share with others!

I worked as a tourism manager for a company. My responsibilities included advising clients, selecting and arranging tours. Well, in fact, I spent all day on social networks and read all sorts of nonsense, from time to time answering calls, and told potential tourists about the beautiful distance.

Why did I go to work in tourism? Probably because the work is interesting, forcing you to constantly develop, learn more, not burdening you with aimless paperwork in the office. Mostly you work with people, and then with pieces of paper.

The main motto of a good manager: we work primarily for the tourist, we give a vacation, a holiday. We practically help people to relax.

All in all, this is not an easy job. In a simple store, the main task is to sell, here the first task is to give a person a holiday. This attracted me.

The advantages of such work- this is the atmosphere and quite creative work. It is not often here that you see a tourist who comes to curtail the manager's blood. Who dares to get the person planning your vacation? Tell people about paradise incredibly pleasant: the bright pictures of tour operators are mesmerizing, and you want to go on vacation a hundred times a day, discovering new places for yourself. Another pleasant feature is the grateful tourists who, after returning from vacation, bring you some nice trinkets, as a gift to your favorite manager, and tell you how they had a rest. And at this moment you are filled with pride that you organized all this.

Of the minuses, I note the fact that there is a lot of work in the season. There is so much of it that you do not have time to have lunch during a whole working day, you stay late at work, you go to the airport at 4 in the morning to issue documents to tourists who did not bother to pick them up in advance.

The main disadvantage that causes a nervous tic in all managers is the request for hot tours. For two years now, this term has not been used at all in tourism, and Thailand will never be over 10 thousand, but everyone is actively asking for it.

Operators are not stupid and no one will sell a tour below cost. If you want a tour for 10 thousand - go to Primorye, it's cool there, and you don't need to buy a phrasebook, and there is less chance of running into one-day scammers. There is another big misfortune of managers - these are tourists, with whom you select a tour for them, wait for them for registration, but they go to another company.

Tour managers are not paid money until the tour is sold. That is, they work with you for free until the tour is issued.

It seems to me that we are doing a holiday for people. In the process of work, you come across different people and different preferences. The manager should know everything, everything is real, right down to whether the fruits are sour in a particular hotel, what the water temperature is, or how much ice cream costs on the beach in Cambodia. Therefore, we are constantly developing, we read millions of travel portals for tour managers. Moreover, the geography here is the holy of holies: none of the clients will like it if you don’t tell him where the place where you send him is located on the map. So the card is like a mother, the nurse of any agent.

To open your own tourist business, you need at least five years of work in the agency, so that you have your own tourist base, without this you can’t go anywhere. In general, opening your own travel business is quite easy: 300 thousand are enough for documents and a small office with a computer and the Internet.

I remember we had a contradictory family. First, my wife asked us to pick up something for them in Cuba for a couple of weeks. Money, they say, does not matter. We discussed all the issues with her for a couple of days, we even chose the hotel, but then my husband writes: “You know, this does not suit us, we want bus tour in Europe". Then there is a discussion with my husband. Two days later, the same story, his wife writes: "No, we don't want a bus, we want to go to the Philippines." We got the feeling that they were just poking their fingers at the map at home and so they were choosing a vacation. In the end, they went to Portugal.

There was also an amusing incident with my acquaintances. I don’t know why, but from the moment I started working, everyone decided that I was a walking computer and knew, in general, all prices for all tours, taking into account changes in the exchange rate. In general, I relax with friends on the weekend, someone from the company finds out that I work in a travel agency, and asks how much the vacation will cost in February in Iceland. Moreover, the question was asked with such a serious air that if I were in the office, I would immediately start looking for an answer to the question posed, I would start preparing documents for the tour.

There are strange situations. Somehow I accidentally met my tourist on the bus. She recognized me, but I did not. She sat down next to me and began to tell how the vacation went, how the children are doing. And, of course, I did not forget to ask how much tours to Thailand cost now. I only remembered the name of the tourist when I came to the office and took out a file with passports. It was embarrassing.

If you are sociable, positive and ready to cope with difficult tasks, for example, finding a tourist who is this moment located far away, a cheap souvenir shop, this work is for you. Tourism is a very soulful job, and even the nastiest client can become a good companion in the future. This work does not allow the brain to dry out and the heart to grow stale. Everyone wants have a nice rest and we are good fairies who make their dreams come true.
