We flew light and didn't have to get luggage, so we slipped through this area quickly. But taking into account all the procedures, one hour was spent and the clock is already 1.00 a.m. or something.
A bit of London at night.
As soon as we got carte blanche, we immediately ran. First, they deposited the bag, although it was not luggage by Ryanair's standards, but I did not want to carry it around London at all. This pleasure is not cheap at Stansted - £ 8.75 per 24 hours or part thereafter. Then, look for transport from the airport to London. The time was already late and the ticket offices of all transport companies were already closed, but someone told us that we need to go directly to the buses and we can buy a ticket there. So it turned out and did not have to look for a long time.
As you leave the terminal you have to move to the right to the bus stop. From Stansted to London, buses run around the clock by Easybus, National Express, Terravision - the main thing is to choose the right route that goes to the place you need in London. Since we knew London only from the stories of Conan Doyle, or in other words did not know at all, there was no problem of choice. We got the Terravision bus, with the final point of arrival in London - Victoria Station. Price £ 9 per nose. The ticket was bought from a special person who was just waiting at the last flight for such late arrivals as we are. Somewhere from that moment, they gradually began to understand the English speech performed by the British. Because before that it was more difficult.
We got on the bus at 01.30 for about an hour on the road and thus in London after 02.30. On the road, at first they stared around, everything was unusual - the driver was on the right, the curb on the left. I managed to get some sleep. On the way we saw an interesting phenomenon - English rabbits. At first I thought it was scarecrows along the road, but they were alive. Probably every meter along the road, sometimes one by one, and sometimes in groups, the most real fluffy and many stood and stared at the road. Surprisingly, next to the road ... Given the fact that we were a little jittery, it’s still an unfamiliar city, it’s not entirely clear where we ended up, and we didn’t want to disturb anything, for example, having missed the plane, we left ourselves for London only half an hour.
In these half an hour, we just walked around the Station, took a few photos and on the way back. The nearest bus on the way back was at 15.15, but please pay attention to it, we could not get on it. We arrived at exactly the right time - and it is already full, there are a lot of people going from Victoria station to the airport. By the way, boarding the bus is completely in the wrong place where the disembarkation is, this must also be taken into account when planning a return. In general, we managed to get pleasure from the first visit to London. It was not possible to really drink English beer, but this is for objective reasons - the night is all the same. But on the way back, we took into account all the nuances and spent time more efficiently and with greater benefit.
We fly from Stansted.
The return went smoothly. It is good to travel by bus at night, there are no traffic jams. When we arrived, there were less than two hours left before departure and check-in for the flight had already been announced. A tip for those flying via Stansted, although it works for all Ryanair airports, try to get the check-in and subsequent search procedures in the forefront. This makes it possible to take full advantage of the opportunities that are opening up for those who have passed the registration.
