Well, in search of the most picturesque panoramas, we chose a route along mountain paths and the peaks of the Bolshoi Thach Natural Park. The highest point of the route is Mount Bolshoy Thach (2368.4 m). This peak is included in the list of World Natural Heritage by the International Wildlife Fund. The Republic of Adygea is located in the northwestern part of the Caucasus Mountains, and it is surrounded by territory. Three rivers flow in this region - the Kuban, Belaya and Laba. The capital of the republic is the city of Maykop. In administrative terms, Adygea is divided into 7 districts and, in addition to the capital, has one more city of republican significance - Adygeysk. More than 100 nationalities live on the territory of the republic, the main ones are Russians and Adyghes. Crystal clear rivers, picturesque forests, plateaus, caves - what Adygea cannot boast of. The sights of the region attract not only Russian tourists, but also guests from other countries.
General information
This region has been inhabited since ancient times. The first mention of Adygea was noted as early as the 5th century BC. e. At that distant time, the Circassians lived on this territory, it was in honor of this people that they gave the name to the republic. In addition, the Great Silk Road passed through the region.
In 1922, Adygea was founded as an autonomous region. Since 1991, the Adygei Autonomous Region of the SSR has been transformed into a republic within the Russian Federation.
What is there to see in Adygea?
The Republic is visited by thousands of travelers every year. They come here to climb the mountain peaks, swim in the rivers, go snowboarding and skiing and just walk along the mountain paths. But let's talk about everything in order.
Mountains of Adygea
The Republic of Adygea is famous for its charming mountain peaks. In with. Khamyshki is Mount Monk. According to legend, a monk lived on its top for a long time, and they decided to name this place in his honor. On the uppermost eastern tier of this mountain is the entrance to the Jolas cave. During the Second World War, the doctor Jolas hid here.

Mount Fiziabgo is located not far from Athos St. Michael's Monastery. From its top you can have mercy on the snow-white mountains and the monastery itself. The slopes are also famous for their underground passages and man-made caves.
Here is the highest point of the Lago-Naki plateau - Mount Fisht (2868 m). Its upper slope is covered with a large glacier. You can conquer Fisht only if you follow a specially designed tourist route.
It is worth noting that these are far from all the mountains that are located on the territory of the Republic of Adygea. Attractions are even difficult to quantify.
Rivers and waterfalls
One of the main assets of the republic are the Rufabgo waterfalls. They are located near the village of Kamennomostsky and represent 10 colorful waterfalls, each of which has its own name.
In the same village there is another amazing place - the Khadzhokh gorge. Here the charming flows through a deep and narrow canyon.
It is also worth looking at the Meshoko River with the gorge of the same name. It is not difficult to get to this place with unique grottoes and waterfalls; many roads of varying difficulty lead to it.
The real treasures of Adygea can be called the Kishi River with its numerous rapids, the Psenodakh Lake, the Pshekh waterfall, the Fars and Polkovnitskaya rivers and many others. In a word, in order not to miss anything, you will definitely need a map of the sights of Adygea.

There are more than 15 caves in the region. The most famous of them are: Big and Small Azish caves, Through, Ozernaya, Sheep, Saxophone, Flute, Monastic, Soaring Bird cave, Dakhovskaya cave, Fishta, Dukhan and others. Most of them are easily accessible for visiting.

The city of Maykop (Adygea) is also of great interest to tourists. Its name is translated from Adyghe as "valley of apple trees". The capital of the republic is really buried in greenery and flowers. The real pride of Maykop is the city park, where swimming pools are built. The Belaya River is quite cold even in summer, so swimming in a warm pool and admiring the lush vegetation of the park is a pleasure. In the vicinity of the capital, you can see ancient burial mounds, the most significant of them is Oshad. On the southern outskirts of the city, on the left bank of the Belaya River, there is an ancient Maykop fortress, or pytape, a large group of archaeologists is still working on its mysteries.
Other attractions
You should definitely see the protected areas of Adygea with your own eyes. For example, the Caucasian Biosphere Nature Reserve, Cossack Stone, Bukreeva, the village of Novosvobodnaya, etc. There are many churches and monasteries in the republic, which are visited by Orthodox tourists every day.

This autumn we often go to Lago-Naki and the Apsheronsky district of the Krasnodar Territory. If you look at the map, you can see that the borders there are nominal. You walk along the Krasnodar Territory, after a few steps you are already in Adygea, then again it seems like the Kuban. But in the grand scheme of things, what's the difference?
We go to the Lago-Naki area for beauty and inspiration, for fresh air and for secrets. Yes, in addition to the extraordinary beauty, in the area of the Mezmaika River and in Lago-Naki, in the foothills of the Caucasus, there are real powerful places of power - dolmens and cromlechs.
And recently we visited the cromlechs. Cromlechs are the oldest structures. Have you seen Stonehenge? In the pictures on the Internet and on TV, everyone has certainly seen it. This is the oldest magical megalithic structure - the British cromlech, perhaps the most famous place of power in the world.
To get to the place of power, it is not necessary to go abroad. It took us only two and a half hours towards Lago-Naki. Near the Mezmaika River, in the forest shade, there are several cromlech complexes. Old mossy stones of different sizes and bizarre shapes form circles. Some stones are interconnected in the form of a mosaic, some stand separately. Some are like pillars, others are like an altar, others are like a chair or a throne.

Why were cromlechs created?
But no one can tell you this for sure. There are a lot of hypotheses and assumptions - this is a UFO landing site, a place for sacrifices or burials, and a prayer center of ancient tribes, where people drew strength and energy. One thing is certain - the energy in places of power is extraordinary.
Do not spend a lot of time in places of power. Energy is a subtle matter. You can get too much of it and not cope with such power, or vice versa - all your life force will flow away imperceptibly, but surely.
Here they take away bad energy
You can shrug your shoulders skeptically or talk about superstitions - it's up to you. But I (modern, distrustful and moderately cynical) experienced such feelings from the cromlech that cannot be explained either by fatigue or self-hypnosis. Moreover, after several trips to the Cromlechs, my life began to change, and quite dramatically. Although it would be more accurate to say that it was I myself who began to change and brought changes in many aspects with me.
Health, relationships, money, home, work - everything suddenly began to take on other shades, colors became brighter, and life tasted better. I suddenly needed a break from work. Stop. Reboot. Maybe it's all about autumn, maybe I'm getting old and growing up, or maybe it's all about places of power. Who knows?
