Kiselev's rock is rightfully business card the city of Tuapse. It rises 46 meters above it, representing an almost sheer boulder - an amazing creation of nature. There is also an ancient Adyghe legend about the rock: there used to be a beautiful girl named Guash here. Her father was rich, owned almost the entire coast, and all the factories belonged to him. But the girl did not like any of the rich suitors: all were rejected by the proud and unapproachable beauty. All except one handsome guy. The problem was that he was a groom.

The girl told her father about her intention. He was so disappointed in her that in the end the girl was locked up, and in return he married her a new groom, naturally very rich. The girl refused to marry the 70-year-old Circassian. And in the end, the groom-groom appointed a meeting on the Kiselev rock: at midnight the horseman galloped here, Guash came too, only now she was chasing her beloved. Therefore, right from the cliff, he jumped into an abyss of 46 meters. Gouache could not stand it, shed many bitter tears - and in the end followed him ...

This is the legend that explains the name of the rock: the Rock of Tears.

Kiseleva Rock is rightfully the hallmark of the city of Tuapse. It rises 46 meters above it, representing an almost sheer boulder - an amazing creation of nature.

The second name - Kiseleva - arose in honor of the artist of the same name, who immortalized this sheer rock in his paintings. At Cape Kadosh, you can also find the artist's dwelling.

And this 46-meter rock, seemingly cut off from one edge of the Kiselev rock, was lit up in the famous Soviet film "The Diamond Arm". It is here that a young boy, surrounded by an aura of holiness, appears to Andrei Mironov, who literally walks on water. In the role of the boy was the son of Nikulin - and, unusually, this is his only role in the movie.

You can get to the Kiselev rock from the beach with mysterious name Spider. You will have to walk along large boulders, and the walk itself will take about 40 minutes. Usually there are the fewest tourists here in low season and with sheer cliff an excellent view of the entire coast opens. Those wishing to swim are lucky - near this natural monument there is a tiny beach where tourists like to pitch their tents. From a distance, the Kiselev rock does not seem so big.

As you know, I have an extremely negative attitude to the "seal rest" on the Black Sea coast. But last season I went there for a few days to show my beloved four-year-old child what the sea is after the mountains of Adygea. I will not repeat myself about this hellish trip, but today, when the snow started again outside the window, I wanted to show something summer and hot. The choice fell on Kiselev's Rock. This quite picturesque natural landmark is located four kilometers northwest of Tuapse, between Cape Kadosh and the mouth of the Agoy River. It is known largely due to the fact that the famous fishing scene from the movie "The Diamond Arm" was filmed on the beach near this very rock.

02 ... Kiseleva rock in all its glory. According to various sources, the height of this "wall" is from 43 to 46 meters.

03 ... If you look at the rock from the side, you can see that it consists of rhythmically alternating thin layers of sandstones and marls. This stratum of shallow marine sediments was formed in the Upper Cretaceous - 80 million years ago.

04 ... The layers of rocks are placed vertically and extend towards Cape Kodosh parallel to the sea coast, but not in a straight line, but curved in the form of a giant arc that bends around the bay.

05 ... The rock is surrounded by a rich flora, including 7 species of lianas and up to 30 species of shrubs and trees, including Pitsunda pine. Kiselyova Rock, together with the Mouse Minks located 700 meters to the north, is part of the protected forest park Kadosh. The area of the park is 300 hectares. The rock itself covers an area of 1 hectare.

06 ... Getting to Skala Kiseleva and swimming in clean sea water (at least in relation to city beaches) is not so easy. First, after leaving the asphalt, you need to go on a dirt road. More precisely, on dirt roads, since there are several exits and the condition of the road depends on weather conditions. However, in dry weather, you can accurately drive almost any car. Then you will have to condense 100 rubles per person and so much for each car in order to drive a little more, and then, having gathered in an armful of children, towels and beach umbrellas, go on an extreme, crumbling downhill. Something near the goat path. No railings, just branches and tree roots. Only at the very end is a wooden staircase (visible in the title photo).

07 ... But if the extreme descent down to the beach is compensated by the well-deserved relaxation in the sea, then the tedious climb to the top, when you are wet with sweat, with dirty feet, torn slates and an exhausted child under your arm, get to the car in order to greedily share the rest of the water in the heated in the back seat a bottle, alas, forever puts Kiselev's Rock in the category of dubious sights. Yes, yes, I finally got one.

08 ... But since we all the same went down, let's admire a little more amazing creation of nature.

09 ... Something like a circle of young geologists. While everyone was swimming and sunbathing, these girls and boys climbed rocks and broke off pieces of rock.

10 ... Kiselev's Rock in the "Diamond Hand". Everyone remembers the scene when the boy walked on the water? It was filmed here.

11 ... At the beginning of the 20th century, not far from this place was the dacha of Alexander Alexandrovich Kiselev, a famous Russian artist-democrat, itinerant. In his paintings, he glorified the beauty of the nature of the Black Sea region, and on one of the canvases he also depicted this rock. Locals as a token of gratitude to the artist, the rock was named after him, and in Tuapse there is even a memorial art museum of Kiselev. But despite the relative inaccessibility, as well as the historical and natural significance, the beach near the cliff is clogged with garbage from the "grateful" descendants. However, like the entire Black Sea coast.

A real visiting card of Tuapse can be called a wonderful natural landmark, which is located just three kilometers from the city towards the village of Agoy. It is a steep cliff, fifty meters high, in the form of a vertical wall right next to the water on the seashore, which is called the Kiselev rock.

An ancient Adyghe legend is associated with this rock.

A young horseman Dyshek, proud, hot, courageous, but very poor, fell in love and opened his heart to a beautiful Adyghe girl, whose name was Guash. fallow deer. She was from a local wealthy family, so there was no end to the rich suitors. The girl fell in love with the young groom Dysheek and asked her father to bless them. However, the father was categorically against the wedding. He locked his daughter under seven locks and began to woo her an elderly, but very rich groom. Then the girl decided to run away from home. She sent her lover a message and made him a date at midnight at the top of the cliff. Gouache got out of captivity and began to wait for her betrothed on the rock. Having received the letter, the enamored horseman saddled his horse and flew towards his love. However, a pursuit of two dozen horsemen was launched after him with the task of "finding him and by any means detaining him." Didn't calculate the speed of Dyshek, flew out onto the rock and shouting: "Guash!" - fell off her straight into the abyss of the sea. For a long time Gouache grieved at the cliff, shedding tears, she could not live without her beloved and rushed after him. In general, as the character of the famous film says: "Everyone is dead." Since then, sometimes this cliff is called the "Rock of Tears", and at night sad girlish songs are heard here. This sad Adyghe legend has been passed down from generation to generation, and today more than one excursion to the Kiselev rock is complete without it.

The smooth vertical façade of the cliff facing the sea has not changed for many years.

You can get to the Kiselev rock from Tuapse, following directly along the seashore, or from the side of the village of Agoy. You can drive from Tuapse by car, but still walking through the forest and the descent is inevitable.

The proof is the famous painting “Kadosh Rocks”, created back in 1902 by the itinerant artist Kiselev, on which this rock is captured. A unique natural phenomenon is surrounded by the protected forest park "Kadosh" with a magnificent virgin forest, in which there are more than twenty species of trees, many different types of shrubs, wild orchids, lianas. The top of the cliff is decorated with sprawling Pitsunda pines. It has its own special unique atmosphere. Green needles of pines, mosaic motley pebbles playing in the sun, pink shells among stones, acrid smell of brown algae thrown by waves on the shore, transparent sea water, the alluring blue of the horizon, where the sea and the sky unite - all this intoxicates and makes you come back here again and again. After all, it was not for nothing that Kiselyov at one time built a gazebo on the top of the cliff, in which he worked with inspiration on his canvases. This place also attracted filmmakers. It was the Kiselyov rock and the pebble beach under it that became the nature of the episode of the film "The Diamond Arm", where the main characters came to fishing, which turned out to be successful for some and not very good for others. And the boy who walked on the water with a halo and was perceived by the hero of the film as a divine presence actually moved along the reefs. The local waters are literally dotted with them.

Cape Kadosh is a truly unique place, and the rock on it is a real gem. After visiting this natural monument, you should look into the Tuapse house-museum of A.A. Kiselev, where you can admire its landscapes and learn more about this rock.

Kiseleva Rock is one of the main attractions of the Tuapse region. On Victory Day, after walking around Tuapse, we headed to the Kiseleva Rock.
Probably, almost every resident of Krasnodar considers it his duty to visit the Kiselev Rock at least once.

How to get to the Rock of Kiselev

I know several ways.

1. Walk along the coast from the Tuapse beach, which is located behind the shipyard. The road is not very good (if you can call it a road) and it is stressful to go in the heat. But for those who like hiking - that's it.
2. By boat. Several times a day a motor ship departs from the port of Tuapse and takes tourists to Kiseleva Skala. There you can go ashore, walk, swim and take pictures of yourself.
The price of a boat trip to Kiselev Rock is from 450 rubles. Children - 300 rubles.

Here is this ship.

3. By car. Before reaching the city of Tuapse, literally two kilometers, you will see an unremarkable drive to the right. Here in the photo you can clearly see.

Swerve and drive. Soon the sign "Autocamping Skala Kiseleva" will appear.

You can turn off here and stay at the campsite. Or you can go further and you will also see another race to the right. We turned there. The road, let's face it, is not very good. It is better not to take risks on a passenger car and on bald tires. But if you are an ace driver or an SUV, it is quite possible to drive.

We rolled to the very end of the road. Further, the road turned into a narrow path leading down to the sea. Here we set up a bivouac.

Descent to the sea is not easy. You need to go down very carefully, and not in slippers, but in normal shoes.

The view from the top from the Kiselev Rock is stunning. But you need to admire it too carefully. One wrong move - and goodbye to the sea and the sun!
