The popular route number 66, connecting the Leninsky and Sovetsky districts, was left without a carrier. The head of the city transport department, Maxim Kicheev, explained the website of the reasons for the failure and told when and which buses would go on the line again.

Complaints from readers of our site about interruptions in the schedule of minibuses began to come in from mid-August. According to Chelyabinsk residents, they have applied to the mayor's office more than once, but they still cannot solve the problem.

My aunt is an employee of the Yuzhuralkonditer factory. She and another 10-15 people go to work from the Leninsky district only on the 66th minibus .. - On way back home they also wait for half an hour for transport, because nothing else goes from the Sovetsky district to Leninsky. They contacted the transport department, where they promised that the issue would be resolved soon.

Another reader of our site complained that on September 3, she was waiting for the 66th bus at the stop "House of Shoes" on Gagarin Street for an hour.

During this time, two buses No. 66 passed by me, completely packed with people, it was impossible to get into them, - the woman says.

The head of the city transport department Maksim Kicheev explained the incident with changes in the legislation, which came into force on July 1.

The conditions for exercising the license were changed, and Public City Transport LLC (OGT), which served the route, was unable to conclude agreements with the owners Vehicle, - said the official. - CDP sent us a letter stating that it cannot serve this route, as there is not enough rolling stock. We accepted the notification, but according to the law, the company must work for another 90 days, so how many vehicles they have now - they have been put up and are being finalized with these forces.

According to Maksim Kicheev, more than 30 vehicles, including illegal immigrants, used to work on the route. The ratio was about 50 to 50. Now their number has dropped sharply - illegal carriers are caught during raids, and Public City Transport has the ability to take out only four buses.

They terminated the contract with OGT and announced a competition to find a new carrier. Its results will be announced closer to mid-September.

The new company will have to use 25 buses on the route. If earlier they were all of small capacity, now other requirements will be introduced.

We are smoothly moving to the middle class of buses, and route 66 falls under the first round of these changes, - added Maxim Kicheev. - In this direction, at first, there will be 20 small-class buses and five medium-sized buses. And in six months a new round will take place: seven more middle-class buses will be added. And, of course, the cars will be equipped full set, including GLONASS and cashless payments.
