The high season in Albena starts in July and lasts until the end of August... At this time, there are many vacationers at the resort, but more than one thousand people can sit on the 5-kilometer beach.

The first days of September are the velvet season. The sun is not as hot as in summer, and the sea remains warm. But sometimes the beginning of autumn brings cold and rain, although, as a rule, bad weather begins in the second half of September.

It should be noted that Albena hotels open in the middle of spring. Of course, it's too early to sunbathe and swim in May, but it's time to walk along the beach and breathe in the healing sea air.

In order not to find out if a small child can handle the heat well, we advise you to plan a vacation for the last spring month.

The sea in Albena is amazing - calm, transparent, with a gentle sandy bottom. It is not surprising that the first thing children do is rush to swim. But the best time for swimming comes only at the end of June.

In early summer, the sea temperature is only + 20 ° C, and not everyone can swim in such water. But by July the sea warms up to + 23 ° С and this temperature is suitable even for small swimmers.

In August, the water temperature rises to + 24 ° С: in such water it is pleasant to cool off after sunbathing. Near the coast, the water can heat up to + 28 ° С - just right to compare Albena with.

In the first month of autumn, the water temperature in Albena is still good for swimming - the sea maintains a temperature of + 22 ° C. But already in October the water cools down to + 18 ° С.

Albena sea and beach

There is only one beach in Albena, but which one is flat coast, 5 km long and 150 m wide, covered with fine white sand... Hence the second version of the name of the resort: in Latin, the word albus means "white".

There are practically no playgrounds on the shore, but the sandy beach itself serves as a good space for games. During a vacation at sea, a bucket and a shovel will definitely come in handy for a child: where else is there such a large and clean sandbox?

Albena beach is free to use. Only the use of umbrellas and sun loungers is paid. The hotels of the first line often equip the nearest part of the coast themselves - then the use of sun loungers and umbrellas becomes free for the guests.

A family vacation in Albena can have the following format: parents are resting in a hotel, and a grown-up child - in a children's camp, in the company of peers. To get to Albena from Varna, you will have to take an intercity minibus taxi. The timetable depends on the season - additional flights are added during the high season.

Bus tickets can be bought at the bus station or from the conductor. Children under 7 years old enjoy free travel, but only with a special transport card. In her absence, you will have to buy tickets for the children, although the conductors often allow young tourists to travel for free.

Note that if you are coming from Varna airport, it will be more convenient to take a taxi, since it will take at least 20 minutes to get from the Albena bus station to the hotels.

Also from Albena you can go to neighboring Balchik. But in order to travel along the entire coast, you will need to get to Varna, and then change to a bus to, or Burgas.

The town of Balchik is located 8 kilometers from Albena, and the town of Dobrich is 30 kilometers away. It will not be difficult to get from Varna - the nearest major airport and the sea capital of the country are almost 40 kilometers from here.

Trains are the only public transport in the city, but for a bored tourist, a trip around Albena on a train can be a kind of city tour. The main attraction of Albena is, of course, the most beautiful park in Bulgaria and the only liana forest in Europe, which stretches for 18 hectares, starting from the Kranevo-Albena road. The reserve has more than 250 plant species, 16 of which are listed in the Red Book of Bulgaria, more than 300 species of animals, fish and birds, many of which are found only here. Therefore, in recent years, in addition to beach and health recreation, ecotourism is especially popular in Albena.

In addition, you can ride in Albena on family bicycles or in a carriage. Both are quite exciting activities, but the option with a bicycle is more exciting and long-lasting.
