It is strictly forbidden to step on or walk on the colored soil; its entire territory is fenced, and several successful observation platforms have been built along the perimeter.
Touching the soil and taking sand with you is also prohibited, but you can buy a small flask with multi-colored sand in souvenir shops. Interestingly, even after shaking, the sand still settles with clear color boundaries.
Geologists from many countries still cannot unravel the phenomenon of these lands, and if the color is determined by the increased content of certain elements, then the question of why the sands never mix with each other remains open today.

The intendant's followers continued his work, significantly expanding the garden's flora with laurel trees, breadfruit trees and araucarias. The entrance to the garden begins with a beautiful wrought iron gate with columns and coats of arms, which in turn attracts a crowned lion and unicorn.
The Botanical Garden of Pamplemousses spreads over an area of 25 hectares; today it contains about 500 species of plants, of which 80 species are palm trees. The most interesting of them are fan palm, cabbage palm, elephant's foot and bottle palm. Interestingly, there is a palm tree that blooms in its entire life only once every 40-60 years, sharply throwing up a large inflorescence of millions of small flowers six meters up. This flowering greatly exhausts the palm trees, and sometimes they die.
The park is also rich in aquatic plants: lilies, water lilies, lotuses. One of the garden's attractions is the Amazon Victoria water lily. It has very strong and huge leaves that grow up to 2 meters in diameter and can support a weight of up to 50 kg.
In 1988, the park was named after Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam.
Perhaps the best place on the southern coast of Mauritius, which we recommend every tourist to visit, is. It was created in 1985 with the aim of reproducing the crocodiles of Madagascar, but over time it turned into a real zoo.
In addition to two thousand toothy crocodiles, the main attraction of the reserve are giant turtles. But caimans, iguanas, monkeys, wild boars, geckos, freshwater and star turtles of Madagascar, eels and cat sharks also live here, in addition to about 20 thousand insects and butterflies from all continents.
The park is home to not only adult individuals, but also their young. The territory of the La Vanilla Nature Reserve is decorated with groves of giant bamboo, banana trees and palm trees. There is a special playground for children, where giant turtles also wander. The local restaurant has a separate menu of crocodile meat, which is extremely rare to try anywhere else.
The southeastern part of the island is decorated with, it is located in a forest in the mountains at an altitude of 550 meters above sea level. For Hindus, this is a sacred lake: according to legend, when the god Shiva and his wife Parvati were walking through the beautiful places of the planet, he walked through these places and accidentally dropped a few drops of the sacred Ganges River into the crater of the volcano. This is how the sacred lake was formed.
The shore of the lake is decorated with temples and sacrificial places. Near the shore of the lake stands the tallest statue of Shiva on the island - 33 meters.
