Since I wrote a review. The situation has changed - Merya has been reconstructing the park for the third year already. It becomes more beautiful and more beautiful. They even finally built a toilet and so far, although it is written temporarily, it is free.
Zelenstroy planted a lot of plants, laid out flower beds. We put up a lot of benches, made a sports and children's playground, gazebos, bike paths. But now you can't fry kebabs, you can't go skiing either (since everywhere the tracks are cleared of snow, and they cross the snow all the time). Yes, and walking in the park has become worse, so there are many cyclists and riders, I don't even know what some new means of transportation on wheels without a rudder are called.

The Natalka tract (Obolon park) is proud of its historical values: the Northern railway tunnel under the Dnieper and the ruins of the former show-park “Golden Gate”. These are great places for those who like to take photo sessions in unusual locations.
Why is the tunnel interesting? The fact that it does not exist in theory. It has not been documented. Although it is formally known that construction began in 1936, it is not marked on the map in any way.
The ruins of the Golden Gate show park are famous for the fact that earlier, when this place was opened in 1999, extreme shows, knights' tournaments, gypsy festivals, rock concerts were held here, it was also a town for blacksmiths and weaving. It was a very huge complex in the then deserted natural boundary "Natalka".

“Natalka Park is better than Central Park in New York and Hyde Park in London,” Mayor Vitali Klitschko said at the grand opening on May 27, 2017. It is difficult to disagree with the words of the Kiev mayor, and everyone can be convinced of this, it is enough just to come to Obolon and walk along the paths of the renewed recreation area.
The park is located in the tract of the same name in the southern part of the Obolonskaya embankment. Until the 2000s, it was an unremarkable, largely neglected green area, which they even wanted to build up with skyscrapers. The only attraction here was the ground part of the tunnel under the Dnieper, which was not completed in the 1930s. In the late 1990s, the Kievan Rus park was built here, which fell into decay a few years later. Gradually it was dismantled, and the foundation reminded of the existence of the complex for more than ten years.
Big changes came in mid-2010, when the park in the Natalka tract began to be restored and improved. So in two years, new paved paths, green spaces, flower beds (for example, in the shape of a large "Tartilla" turtle), modern street lamps, benches appeared here (in 2015, several "vandal-proof" benches were installed, made of materials that were not spoilage). The activists opened an open-air cinema. In 2016, a playground was installed for children, and a few steps away from it there is a location for romantic photo sessions.
And the greatest changes took place during the reconstruction of Natalka in 2016-2017, as a result of which the central entrance to Natalka Park with viewing platforms was rebuilt. There was also a main boulevard with seating areas, an artificial football field, a large modern gym, a public toilet with changing tables. On the alley running along the banks of the Dnieper, three large pavilions were equipped, with wonderful view to the Moscow Bridge and the Left Bank.
In 2018, the reconstruction of the park continues in the area in front of the North Bridge, to which it is planned to bring a bicycle path that runs along the entire embankment, and thus connect it with a major bicycle highway leading from Troyeshchina to the city center. For July, another part of the park was made, about 100-150 meters long (the same amount is left to the bridge). On this site there is another gazebo overlooking the Dnieper, two sports grounds and a small gym, metal sculpture, flower beds, benches, paths, etc.
You can talk a lot about Natalka for a very long time, so there really is something to say, but this wonderful place in Kiev is definitely worth visiting for every resident of our city, and for those who cannot yet do this, we suggest looking through our photo selection.

V the last days the outgoing May, in Obolon, after reconstruction, the second stage of the recreation area was opened - "Natalka", which is a modern park and can serve as a "golden" model for all the capital's green areas. The new park is located between the Moscow bridge and Obolonskaya embankment on an area of eight hectares. The restoration of the first phase of the park was completed back in 2016.
The Natalka tract was abandoned for a long time. They even tried to build it up. And thanks to the joint actions of public activists and with the support of Obolon residents, this site was returned to the city. The tract was turned not only into best park district, and in the decoration of all Kiev. Park "Natalka" - a recreation area of the European level, with modern design, with a landscaped area, the necessary infrastructure, playgrounds for children and sports. And now, even Londoners themselves can envy this metropolitan park with access to the Dnieper, because their famous royal Hyde Park is located in the center of London, and is surrounded by houses on all sides. 
Also, from the beginning of June in the Natalka park a new season will open a free summer cinema "Park Cinema Kiev". The open-air cinema has a large screen measuring eight by five meters, a powerful acoustic system is installed, there is a high-quality projector for showing films, more than two hundred places for seating (chairs, caravans) are installed, blankets and auxiliary materials are available.

As a result of the reconstruction, an entrance group appeared in the park area: in the green area on the territory of the park, the steps on the stairs were completely changed, in the upper part of the park they were equipped observation decks and set up tables where you can take a break with a cup of coffee.
New necessary communication lines were laid, as well as a public toilet, a children's table was even installed in the hall for changing newborn babies. 
On the alleys, along the Dnieper bank, three open-air pavilions were erected. For those wishing to go in for sports, a sports ground was arranged, for fans of street fitness - a site for street workout, football - a field for playing mini-football.
Newly planted trees and flower beds were automatically irrigated with water intake directly from the Dnieper River. Zones with park sculptures have been arranged on the central alley.
Work has been carried out to organize the modern lighting of the park - about 139 street lamps have been installed. We also repaired the transformer substation, installed fences, landscaped the territory on an area of 10,000 square meters. m., set up new paths for pedestrians and high-quality bike paths with FEM coverage, installed comfortable benches for rest, new bins for garbage collection.
Utility workers by maintenance green spaces Obolonsky district carried out sanitary molding pruning of old trees, raised their crowns, creating the most aesthetic appearance and improving the penetration of sunlight, clearing and free standing trees (satellites) were decorated in the English style.
Park "Natalka" will continue to equip - closer to the Moscow Bridge, on an area of five hectares, they plan to set up another recreation area. In addition to new footpaths and modern lighting, there will be a volleyball court and several sloping areas with ramps leading to the park from residential areas.
On June 11 and 12, 2016, the residents of the Obolonsky district and all the people of Kiev were solemnly presented with the renewed park of the same name, located near the Moscow bridge and the famous embankment in the Natalka tract. Information about this appeared on the official website of the Kiev city administration. For several months in this green area, located on the banks of the Dnieper, large-scale renovation work was carried out, which significantly changed the appearance of the park.
New park "Obolon" opened after reconstruction
As part of the complete overhaul, 3000 m 2 of paths were paving, a bicycle path was arranged around the perimeter, more than 40 benches were installed, more than 10 flower beds were laid out, alpine slides were created, as well as places for photo sessions, wedding ceremonies and more. In addition, thanks to the help of patrons and sponsors, a modern children's playground in the form of a ship with a special bicycle path for children and separate areas for master classes was also installed in the green zone.

And, according to public activists, the main highlight of the reconstructed Obolon park was great view to the Dnieper. It can now be enjoyed thanks to the clearing of the adjacent banks, which has resulted in the unrivaled landscape of the capital's main river. And lovers of cinema will surely be delighted to learn that a street cinema will operate on this territory throughout the summer. Now, in the wonderful Natalka tract, you can enjoy not only nature, but also the masterpieces of world cinema.
