Another way to admire the cape is to book a tour of Kerkyra; not a single tourist group passes by. However, in this case it is unlikely that you will be able to plunge into the warm sea.
If you go to the beach, be sure to take a mask and fins with you, because the water is clean and the underwater world is rich. Everything around is fragrant with the aromas of the Mediterranean.
Buses come straight to the central beach, and there is also a pier. On it, locals offer a ride on a yacht or boat through grottoes and caves. Modern Agios Gordios

Typical features of the beach are the characteristic rocky terrain and a small rock that seems to be peeking out from the sea. This is the western coast of the island, and is traditionally considered European. There are very few Slavs in the village and by the sea.

Porto Timoni – when the mountains embrace the sea
Porto Timoni is a truly virgin place with lush vegetation and clear sea. In terms of beauty, this is the best beach in Corfu. You won’t be able to get there by public transport: only by rented car, taxi, or on your own. Even if you go by car, on the way to the beach you still have to overcome the descent from the mountain (about a quarter of an hour), and, accordingly, you will have to climb back. We advise you to take a change with you. But the views of Porto Timoni are worth all the effort. Therefore, when you are asked about the most beautiful beaches in Corfu, you will probably talk about Porto Timoni.
Before the descent, you can refresh yourself in a cafe, and head on to the gorgeous pebble coast. To avoid getting lost, look at the signs and look for the words “Double beach”. In general, the name is not entirely true. In fact, there are three beaches, it’s just that getting to the third one is even more difficult than getting to the first two, so there are usually no people there.
When going to any of them, it is advisable to take an umbrella with you, because you will not find shade. The northern beach is windy and the water seems colder. But in southern Porto Timoni there is no wind at all, so there are a lot of wasps. For those who don't want to climb the mountains, there is an option to get to the beach by catamaran or boat.
Bataria – beach with white stones
Bataria is cozy and clean, but the pebbles on it are large. The trestle beds and umbrellas are paid, almost all are laid out on the stones. When entering the water, pebbles can cause trouble: pebbles can injure feet, especially for children. It is better to immediately purchase rubber shoes for swimming.
But the views are simply fantastic: azure water contrasts with white rocks. Wonderful views of nature! The photos come out great. However, there are also disadvantages.
The beach is small, there are a lot of people during the day. The sunbeds provided are uncomfortable, the umbrellas are old and sometimes broken. There is no toilet or shower. There is only a cafe where you can visit the toilet. But there are changing cabins on Bataria. But in terms of transport accessibility there are no questions; there is parking above the beach.
Rovinia – the beauty of wild nature
Rovinia Beach is a small pebble and rocky beach. Buses do not go here, but you can easily get there by car, boat (sea taxi) or on foot. Parking is available nearby. White pebbles, blue sea, tempting grottoes. The water is crystal clear, there are no algae, it would be a shame not to snorkel and try to catch fish with your hands! The sea is deep.
A secluded place, but still you can’t call it paradise. There is dirt and in terms of landscaping there is something to complain about. There are no sunbeds or umbrellas. In addition, due to the fact that the beach is wild, there are no buoys or restrictions for boats. Everyone can scurry along the shore in a motor boat. Sometimes this creates a danger: people are in the water, and a boat is passing nearby. You never know how it might end.
It’s difficult to find Rovinia Beach without instructions from the locals, because there are no signs. The road to the beach itself is picturesque and runs through olive groves. You can buy food on a small boat that brings snacks and drinks. They sell decent sandwiches, inexpensive beer and iced coffee.
Sandy beaches of Corfu
Those who do not like pebbles, but have chosen Corfu for their holiday, will find good sandy beaches on the island: noisy and secluded, popular and uncrowded.
Agios Georgios – a secluded place to relax
This sandy beach is clean and large. There are inclusions of pebbles at the entrance to the water. There are usually few people here.

Less crowded Gardenos
This beach is ideal for a break from the noise of popular places on the Corfu coast. Locals and tourists who live nearby relax here. It is not one of those beaches that people travel to from the other end of Corfu. Gardenas is huge, completely sandy - sand both on the shore and in the sea. The water is warmer than in Paleokastritsa.

There are shops and restaurants in front of the beach entrance. There is a shower and changing room. Fish and other marine life can be seen in the water.

Mirtiotissa – no need to be shy
Stunning beach, one of the best and most picturesque in all of Greece. The main part of Myrtiotissa is given over to nudists. Be prepared for this. The beach is modest, cozy, with a sandy, gentle approach to the sea.
A special feature of the beach is its secluded location: you can only get here by rented car or moped. By the way, in order to go down to the sea, you will have to overcome a sharp descent, and a scooter with a weak engine may then not be able to climb up. Umbrellas here are surprisingly free, they are handed out to everyone at the entrance, but you have to pay for the opportunity to lie on a sun lounger.
This is one of the nicest resorts in Corfu with sandy beaches. There is a bar with drinks and snacks, and a restaurant along the road. Due to its specificity, Myrtiotissa is often visited by tourists from Western Europe and representatives of sexual minorities. However, there are many families with children.
Another wonderful beach is Paradise. Translated – “paradise beach”. Tourists love it for its soft sand, convenient access to the sea and clean water. In addition, the beach is very exotic and secluded.
It is important that you cannot get there by land; you will only have to get there by sea.
If you are arriving by boat, remember that it is forbidden to land on the shore. However, if there are no people on Paradise, an exception can be made.
According to the rules, you need to anchor at a distance of fifty meters and swim there, like Robinson Crusoe. This means that you won’t be able to take anything with you. The best time to dock is early morning. A taxi boat will cost fifteen euros for each passenger, and renting the entire boat for a day will cost about 80 euros. The most beautiful coast of Corfu- Western. And although the water here is a little colder than on other coasts, it is the most popular (and expensive) beach destination on the island.
Here is a piece of paradise - Paleokastritsa. Cliffs covered with greenery hang over small bays and coves, there are 17 of them in total. Five of them are accessible from the shore, the rest can be reached by boat. The port of Paleokastritsa has a large selection of ships on which you can take a cruise. There are also many grottoes in Paleokastritsa, which can be admired from the sea. The seabed is very picturesque and densely populated with fish and shellfish, making Paleokastritsa an ideal place for divers. You can also admire all this splendor through the windows and transparent bottom of one of the submarines waiting for tourists in the port of Paleokastritsa. In addition, Paleokastritsa is rich in sandy and pebble beaches.

Overhanging the beach of Myrtiotissa is a cliff, where the 14th century monastery of the same name is located.
Condoyalos- a beach with wonderful fine sand, washed by clear sea waters. Not far from it there is a small rocky island with which an interesting legend is associated. According to it, during one wedding, pirates landed on the shore, grabbed the beautiful bride along with the wedding gifts and set sail. The bride's mother sobbed on the shore as she watched the pirate ship raise anchor. Mad with despair, the woman shouted a curse after the scoundrels: “It would be better for my daughter to turn into stone than to be dishonored by you, damned infidels!” At that moment, the girl, the pirates, and the ship turned into rocks, which the legend calls “bride stones.”
Ermones. A small bay with a pebble beach, surrounded by imposing cliffs that give way to forested mountains, this is the harbor from which Odysseus sailed from the land of the Phaeacians, heading to his home in Ithaca. Now this is where Ermones Beach is located. Nearby is a golf club, one of the best in Europe.
Agios Georgios Armenadon(St. George) is a wonderful sandy beach in the north-west of Corfu. This place is well suited for windsurfers. The beach is also equipped for other water sports. You can get there by going down the highway along a narrow road.

With their happiness they aroused the envy of the gods and were turned into rocks that form the above-mentioned bay. They say that if lovers sail together along the “Channel of Love”, their feelings will be eternal. And if a person only dreams of finding his love, then he must swim through an arch washed out in the rock.

Kaiser's throne in the village of Pelekas in Corfu
The famous "Kaiser's Throne" is located on the top of a cliff above the village of Pelekas, a picturesque Corfiot mountain village. The Kaiser's Throne cannot be reached by bus, so you can get there either by rented car or on foot from the village of Pelekas (about 800 meters uphill). The resorts closest to the village of Pelekas are the famous sandy beaches of Glyfada, Agios Gordis, as well as the incredibly beautiful Paleokastritsa, Ermones, Llapades, famous for their breathtaking rocky landscapes and bays with sea water the color of bright turquoise.
The Kaiser's Throne is a historical monument dating back to the era of Kaiser Wilhelm II. The Kaiser bought the Achilleion Palace, built by Elizabeth of Austria in 1904, and since then regularly visited Corfu. He installed electricity in the palace, brought the first car and telegraph device to the island in the history of Corfu. The Kaiser was also a great lover of hiking, which is why he chose the top of the cliff overlooking the village of Pelekas, which offers a breathtaking panoramic view of almost the entire island of Corfu, the shores of Albania and mainland Epirus. The Kaiser's "gazebo" is built of metal and stone; a stone staircase leads to the platform with binoculars. Next to the "Kaiser's Throne" there is a small hotel and cafeteria, where in the shade of the trees you can drink a cold cocktail or have a snack while enjoying the beautiful view and clean mountain air. Visiting the observation deck is free.
Today, Pelekas is also a favorite place for romantics and lovers who come to admire the sunset from the top of the mountains.
Pelekas village
Pelekas is a picturesque traditional Corfiot village located 13 kilometers from Corfu town, in the center of the island, close to the central west coast of Corfu, at an altitude of 270 meters above sea level. Pelekas means crane in Greek. Visitors to this cozy village can fully enjoy the national flavor - narrow streets, small churches, virgin nature, little touched by civilization, silence and beautiful panoramic views of the mountain slopes - will not leave you indifferent. On a cliff overlooking the village there is an observation deck called the Kaiser's Throne.
Below the village of Pelekas, 2 km away, is one of the most beautiful sandy beaches of Corfu - Kondoyalos (which means a short bay). The beach is very similar to the famous Glyfada beach located next door.
