Ground services

Destinations

Ground transportation

Despite the great distance (30 km) from the capital of the republic Magas and the largest city of the republic Nazran, and despite the proximity of the city of Sunzha (more than 64 thousand inhabitants), there is no regular passenger service between the airport and the listed settlements. The Sleptsovskaya railway station closest to the airport (2 km) is not operational. Communication with the airport is carried out using taxis and private drivers.

Story

On June 4, 1992, the Ingush Republic was formed by the Law of the RSFSR. Due to the difficult transport situation and isolation from the outside world in which the newly formed republic found itself, there was a need to create and establish air communications. It was decided to quickly create its own airport on the basis of the former branch of the Armavir Military Flight School.

On November 28, 1992, by Order of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 2185-R, the creation of the Ingushetia Airport in the Republic of Ingushetia was legally established. Ingushetia Airport was built with the buildings, equipment and special vehicles necessary for its operation. In a short period of time, competent specialists were trained for all airport services and their certification was carried out.

On January 25, 1993, the first landing of a Yak-40 aircraft was made at the Ingushetia airport. Thus, from the day the decision was made to establish its own airport in the republic and until the landing of the first aircraft, only a little more than a month passed.

In 1995, by order of the President of the Republic of Ingushetia R.S. Aushev, a decision was made to build a new airport.

On September 21, 1999, by Order of the Government of the Republic of Ingushetia No. 353-r, the Ingushetia airport was renamed the Magas airport. By 2000, the construction of a new airport complex in Ingushetia was completed.

On March 23, 2007, FSUE Ingushetia Airport also acquired the status of Magas Airport OJSC. Thus, the airport is finally assigned to the capital of the Republic of Ingushetia - the city of Magas.

In May 2008, for the first time, the Republic of Ingushetia acquired its own Tu-134 for Magas Airport.

On December 27, 2011, for the first time in the history of the Republic of Ingushetia, a Boeing airliner from one of the leading Russian airlines, UTair, landed on the runway of Magas Airport with 116 passengers on board.

On February 7, 2012, in order to perpetuate the memory of the first Hero of the Russian Federation, Honored Military Pilot of the USSR, Candidate of Military Sciences, Major General of Aviation Sulambek Susarkulovich Oskanov, by Decree of the Head of the Republic of Ingushetia Yu. B. Evkurov No. 15, OJSC "Airport Magas" was given the name OJSC "Magas Airport named after. S. S. Oskanova".

On the airport station square, on a pedestal, there is a Russian Air Force MiG-29 fighter plane, on which Sulambek Oskanov performed his last flight and, at the cost of his life, heroically took the falling fighter away from the populated area, thereby saving the lives of many civilians.

June 4, 2012, on the day of the opening of the monument to S. S. Oskanov and as part of the celebration 20th anniversary Republic of Ingushetia, aerobatic team of the Lipetsk Aviation Center "Falcons of Russia" aerobatic maneuvers were demonstrated on Su-27 aircraft and pair aerobatic teams (on Mig-29 aircraft) in the sky above Magas airport. Residents of the republic were able to see tactical techniques of air combat for the first time. Having flown to Ingushetia on the occasion of the opening of the monument to the first Hero of Russia Sulambek Oskanov, the pilots of the Lipetsk Aviation Center performed complex figures to the accompaniment of music. The complexity and risk of this program lay in the aerobatics of combat fighters at low altitude (up to 200 m) and limited space (directly above the display location) at high speeds (500-800 km/h) .

In September 2012, Evloev Vakha Zaamovich was elected Director of JSC Magas Airport named after General S.S. Oskanov.

In February 2013, preparatory work began at the airport for the construction of an international terminal.

Magas Airport is the federal Russian airport of the Republic of Ingushetia. It is located approximately 35 km from the city of Magas, and 30 km from the city of Nazran. This is the only airport providing civil transportation in the Republic. He also has a second name in honor of the first Hero of Russia, General S.S. Oskanov.

How to get to/from the airport?

Let's look at the main ways to get to Magas airport from Nazran and travel in the opposite direction.

By personal transport

If you have your own car, you will have to travel about 28 kilometers to Magas airport. If you move from the city center along Asiyat Tukaeva Street in an easterly direction, then at the nearest roundabout (on the right side of the vehicle you will see the Lukoil gas station) you need to turn left. Next you should move along the P-217/E50 highway without turning anywhere. After the turn, you need to drive a little more than 22 kilometers; you can focus on the Alkhanchurt Canal, which stretches on the left side of this road. You should turn off this highway at the junction, where the Imperial gas station will be visible on the left side of the driver. Then you should move without turning anywhere until the driver hits a perpendicularly passing road. You can navigate to the Bek Oil gas station, located beyond the intersection of the two indicated roads. You need to turn left and move to the next right turn. Then, turning right, the driver must drive to the end, without turning anywhere, and enter the airport access road, which will be on the right side of it. It's difficult to make a mistake, since there are no other right turns on the route.

If you leave the city along the central street of Oskanova in a north-eastern direction, you should drive without turns for almost 14 kilometers. Then, following the signs, turn right, where Oskanova Street turns into Dzhabagieva Street, along which you can get to the airport. You will only need to turn left again after 10.5 kilometers to get to the access road indicated in the previous route.

There is practically no difference in distance between these routes, and they differ only in that in the first case the entrance will be located on the right side of the driver, and in the second - on the left. Also, when driving on the P-217/E30 highway, you can turn onto Oskanova Street. To do this, you need to go left at the turn located 300 meters before the bridge over the Alkhanchert Canal.

Public transport

You can get from Nazran to Magas airport by bus No. 501, which departs from the bus station from one of the platforms. The entire route takes just over 1 hour, the bus stops at only 3 stops. However, the bus does not go directly to the airport complex; you need to get off at the Troitskaya stop, and then walk a little more than 1 kilometer in a northerly direction.

The railway station is located 650 meters from the bus station. After leaving the railway station, you need to move in a southeast direction to get to the bus station and go to the airport on the same bus No. 501. Again, you will have to get off at the Troitskaya stop and walk to the airport.

What to do if your flight is canceled

If a flight is canceled more than 24 hours before departure, passengers will be transferred to similar airline flights. The carrier bears the costs; the service is free for the passenger. If you are not satisfied with any of the options offered by the airline, most airlines can issue an “involuntary return.” Once confirmed by the airline, the money will be returned to your account. Sometimes this can take several weeks.

How to check in at the airport

Online check-in is available on most airline websites. Most often it opens 23 hours before the start of the flight. You can go through it no later than 1 hour before the plane departs.

To check in at the airport you will need:

    • identification document specified in the order,
    • birth certificate when flying with children,
    • printed itinerary receipt (optional).
  • What can you take on a plane?

Carry-on luggage is the items you will take with you into the cabin. The weight limit for hand luggage can vary from 5 to 10 kg, and its size most often should not exceed the sum of three dimensions (length, width and height) from 115 to 203 cm (depending on the airline). A handbag is not considered hand luggage and is carried freely.

The bag you take with you on the plane should not contain knives, scissors, medicines, aerosols, or cosmetics. Alcohol from duty free stores can only be transported in sealed bags.

How to pay for luggage at the airport

If the weight of luggage exceeds the standards established by the airline (most often 20-23 kg), you need to pay for each kilogram of excess. In addition, many Russian and foreign airlines, as well as low-cost airlines, have tariffs that do not include free baggage allowance and must be paid separately as an additional service.

In this case, luggage must be checked in at the airport at a separate Drop-off check-in counter. If you are unable to print your boarding pass, you can obtain one at the airline's regular check-in counter, and check-in and check-in your luggage there.

Where to find out the arrival time if you are a greeter

You can find out the plane's arrival time on the airport's online board. The Tutu.ru website has an online display of the main Russian and foreign airports.

You can find out the exit number (gate) on the arrivals board at the airport. This number is located next to the incoming flight information.
